something I am working on
Ancient words lie on the shelf,
Written in a language long forgot
A recipe for living that our world has denied
Time passes and dust gathers
The longer we breathe the farther we stray
Open the book and see
Religious forms screaming to be saved
Holding themselves pious for the glorious day
Life falsely lead
Salvation lies upon a shelf
Gathering dust and dissolving
With each breath taken by humans
darkness
breeds within their souls
Fingers and hearts clutching at pearly gates
Seeking keys to fit locks on the next life
What if this is your chance?
Salvation in this moment?
Close the book
Open your eyes and feel
Breathe in the ancient language
Ancient words lie on the shelf,
Written in a language long forgot
A recipe for living that our world has denied
Time passes and dust gathers
The longer we breathe the farther we stray
