The point of this incident is that a guy pushed over the mental edge was able to buy a gun and ammunition in the morning and kill a bunch of people with it that night. This is about the idiocy of having less control on the access to guns than you do to being able to drive a car for the first time.

One piece of irony here is that if folks hadn't campaigned so hard--and ultimately successfully--to get Walmart from selling guns over the counter itself, this night manager wouldn't have had to buy his gun. He could have just taken one and the ammunition to go with it off the Walmart shelf ten minutes before going on his rampage. He couldn't do that only because of the campaign to control access to guns working to the extent it has.

The bulk of the synthetic opioids are coming in from China with an increasing volume being manufactured by the Mexican Cartels and even there the bulk of the precursors are coming from China.

I'd like to see your sources on the 93% State. It is known that the majority is coming across the Texas border with New Mexico becoming an even greater entry point by volume. Quite frankly it's not a State problem, it's a border problem. The flood of illegals at specific points of entry have basically sucked in all of the Border Patrol resources leaving HUGE gaps along the entire border virtually unmanned. The States have tried to fill in where they can but the reality is that they DO NOT have the authority and in most cases the resources to plug the gaps. Texas, having the longest border with Mexico, is still the greater crossing point by volume but as I mentioned, that is changing. New Mexico is climbing up the chart because the State as allocated virtually no resources to cover the border.
