Cozy Comparatively Catatonic Chat 🐈😻

Thanks! I couldn't take my office being so disorganized so I rearranged and unpacked some. 🤦‍♀️

Thanks! This weekend we found our new Mexican restaurant and their queso is divine! And it's only about 1.5 miles from the house. Bonus! 😂
Yeah, I hear you on the office needing to be organized. For me, it's kitchen first though...then other stuff (I don't have a home office).

And divine queso sounds ...well...divine...LOL.
It's always fun to find the good new restaurants!

We went from tons of kitchen storage/cabinets to not much, so we ordered a pot rack to hang and a beautiful pantry storage unit. So until those arrive and get put together, I feel like I'm kind of stuck since I'm not sure what will go where yet.

We put a pot rack up in our previous house. It was great. Frankly I really wish we had a layout here that would accomodate one, it was SO much better than piling the pots in the cupboard and stuff....
We have a big corner cupboard here with a lazy susan type thing (two levels), but still, it's not as great as our pot rack was.

Legit … I purged last time I moved in 2020 but I think I’m ready to do it again …. I’m not sure why I’m holding on to childhood mementos … it’s not like anyone is gonna get them when I die… except the trash man.
You must have done a much better job of purging than I did! 😂

My sister was standing over me saying "Grandma gave that to you" or "Grandma made that for you, you can't get rid of that!" So now I'm away from her supervision I will go through it all again. I was Grandma's favorite and she made me a ton of stuffed dolls. I don't need a hundred of them! lol

That’s the thing … having lost parents and had to go through their stuff … 9 times out of 10 you don’t end up keeping it. It’s HARD though (that’s what she said)

My husband keeps telling me "you don't need things to remember her" which I will have to chant while purging. lol
I think the word is 'things' plural. You don't need things. But something is OK. Just pick one thing. And repurpose the rest.
If only I would take my own advice... what time are you getting here to start my house? 😉🤣

I don’t have a lot of stuff from either of my parents. I have my grandmother’s good dishes, and my great grandmother’s special glasses. A duck decoy my great grandpa carved. A big framed pic of the dairy. My dad’s service medals and the flag from his funeral. My mom and dad’s wedding picture. And my brother’s hat. Sentimental stuff. If I keep too much, things tend to disappear. 🙄

That’s the fact…. I have half a dozen things of each of my parents and my grandparent… enough to remember them but not enough to overwhelm my house.

Sigh...I should tell my story. OMG.... Please people like me who are getting on in age, throw shit out. Do it now. I beg you.

That's actually more than I have from either of my grandparents or great grandparents. Now...from my in-laws.....:confused::mad:

That sounds like good balance.

I saw something on those decluttering shows that said to take a picture of the sentimental things so you can let it go but still have it in a way.

So the kids school/ art stuff thats great get a picture before going in the recycle bin. Its saved me so much angst with getting rid of that stuff.
