HAH! I tried lace-making once. after a week of fiddling with thread I could hardly see, I ended up with a couple of inches of something that I could have bought at Joannes for a dollar a yardThanks. It's for my mother and father in law. I commented on your jabots, stella, but it didn't post.
What I said is, they're really cool and I was wondering if you buy your lace or make it?

I buy my lace, and it isn't easy, because I look for things that don't show up at Joannes. I keep my eyes open at swapmeets and such.
My next project will be epaulettes!
My nyancat scarf - ran into some problems with the sprinkles I was going to use, so those aren't on yet while I change plans.
My from-scratch gingerbread house!
these are the handstamped holiday cards I sent out this year...
Cute!
That is beautiful! It looks like leather on the front.
Not a lot of projects for us after the weather cools but here's a fireplace reno we did recently. The fireplace insert and bottom ledge are original, we did all the rest. I wish the client had chosen a darker grout like we recommended but it still turned out OK. Wish I had a "before" picture too, because it was hideous.
My sister found this artisan marketplace site. It's UK based, and her dollar amounts were also translated into euros, which is nice-- she says that her European sales dropped away after one of etsy's godawful problematic "improvements." Listing is free, there's a three-percent-ish fee at sale time. She said listing was pretty easy and straightforward, and when she asked a question in the forum an admin answered her within minutes-- because the site is so slow yet, probably! But we can change that...

two new things.
First, a laptop bag which took me two months to make-- cutting pieces out a then changing my mind and having to cut them again, sewinf wrong and having to tear seams open and sew them again... whole lot of cussin and swearing and i would do a lot of things differently except I don't ever want to do this again!
More pics here
And this wierdass thing that i made-- a customised clown makeup holder, cut from a book.
yeah, I know. But it was fun as hell to do... A step-by-step is here and if anyone feels the need to do this for any other kind of box, I'll galdly aid and abet the madness!
That's gorgeous!
That's gorgeous!
WHo is he?
Do you do clowning? I've been interested in it off and on since the 70s-- took some mime classes back then... forgotten probably everything, but my interest is coming back these days
Oh, sweet! The music sounds like Klezmer to me-- I love that shitThankyou!! He's Ed Cox...look him up on youtube he's a music producer who invented his own genre...clowncore! I am absolutely in love with him, mostly due to the creepy/innocent smile he has on his face while he plays the most mental music.
I don't do clowning but I am absolutely mad for painting my face, and I've done a clown face a few times because of my Ed Cox love!
