I keep meaning to pick up those other books, but just haven't gotten around to it. One day I will, just rereading Dresden Files right now. And might start Mistborn after that.

I read one of the Dresden books...but it didn't do anything for me though.

I still need to see if John Ringo has a new instalment of the series he started in Live Free or Die.

Haven't read any of his stuff beyond what was published in The Service of the Sword

Its alright. Its the Winchester's charm.

Damn freaking show. Damn them, Damn Castiel, damn Crowley!!!

I don't have cable, so I am not up to date on season 9. Don't make me watch seasons 1-8 again on Netflix because I will!

Pretty much damn the whole show. I don't blame you, I just started rewatching while simultaneously working my way through S8. Go ahead, rewatch!

Hey, Veroe, what upcoming Avengers movie are you most excited for? Captain America?

Oh! Oh! Captain America! ME Me!

Fun! Is he your favorite? I'm also really excited for the next X-Men, but any series in the theater for the past few years = mostly a good time.

I have always been a fan of the Cap. But I really liked what they did with him, and hope the next movie is fantastic.

I have also enjoyed most of the, (Save for the x2 and x3), and I haven't seen any thing recent... though I wanmt too. Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and the new X-man

Did you like X-Men First Class?

Out of the three in this round after Avengers 1 the one I wanted to watch most was Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He's my favorite superhero and the Winter Soldier storyline is my favorite.

Hell I was anticipating this movie as soon as I heard they were making Captain America: The First Avenger.

Other than avengers 1 Cap 2 is the film I've anticipated the most of the last two years which includes star wars.

OK question: There's some unnamed release dates Marvel had laid claim to after Age of Ultron and Antman. The two most talked about contenders for these spots are either Doctor Strange or Black Panther. So which of those Marvel properties do you guys want to see first in a film?

I don't know if I would like an Antman movie, and maybe Doctor Strange and Age of Ultron would be the ones I would want to see most (Age being the top of the picks)

And, sadly no thes, I haven't seen first class, though I have heard it was good.

Winter Soldier looks good! I'll admit that out of the series, Captain America is probably my last on the list but I still really like the character. And bleh, Antman. I'd like to see Black Panther, people have been trying to make it into film FOREVER and that it could be created into such an established film universe - very exciting. I'd really like to see it.

How about you, Veroe?

I have serious problems with the X-men films. The continuity nightmares. The Appalling way they treated Cyclops, but most of all how much the X-men films revolve around Wolverine.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Jackman's portrayal of the character, and I like the character of Wolverine. No problems with that. Problems with Fox studios and most of all Bryan Singer, yes. I feel the first three X-men movies should've been titled: WOLVERINE and his whacky sidekicks who are completely inept without our film's sole hero...and are only there for him to make fun of and steal their motorcycle and car and girlfriend...the...what are they called again...oh right...the X-men but don't worry it really stars WOLVERINE part 1, part 2: United, and Part 3: The Last Stand.

That's why I say First Class is the only actual X-men movie they've actually managed to make yet, (Since the movie stealing Wolverine was only in it for all of ten seconds) and why I am only timidly looking forward to Days of future past.

My issue is the completely unbalanced approach they've taken to what is a team or ensemble property. I feel Fox and Singer should've taken notes when watching Avengers 1.

But that aside for me I can't decide which of the two I'd like them to do first Doc Strange or Black Panther....I kinda feel its time for an African American Superhero (Well African in this case) like BP, but personally I'm more intrigued about how they're going to tackle the mysticism angle in DS.

I would like to point out blade ;p But yeah, Black panther is one i think that could do VERY well. And YES. I hated how Cyclops was portrayed, but also have to admit that Jackman was Wolverine.

So yeah, I would say its time for Black panther, but I liked Doc Strange more when I was into comics.

Why is Cyclops always treated so badly... grrrrrrrr

I know the second movie he gets hit on the head and we don't see him till the end, the third we don't even really know what happens to him and we never see him again....we don't even know for sure if he's dead....what did James Marsden do to deserve such shitty treatment?

But that's the M.O. for all the other X-men: Storm, Collosus, Iceman, Angel, all of them other than Rogue and Wolverine and Prof. X are underwritten, underperformed, underdirected (Points at Singer). And I'm supposed to be enthusiastic at yet another attempt from them to make a surefire hit into an only so-so mockery of the awesome movie they could make.

(Calms myself down) Haven't seem Days of Future Past yet...maybe this one will be the X-men movie I wanted X-men 1, 2, and 3 to be.

I didn't take the X-Men films seriously until First Class, and even then I had some serious criticisms. But I'm always a sucker for the examination of Magneto/Professor X and I think they're doing that pretty well, so far.

I agree that Jackman played an awesome Wolverine and I was irritated at the crappy story that was dealt to him.

I also hate (HATE) how they've treated Cyclops but even worse, how they've treated Gambit. I was grossed out from the start for the "Cajun language lessons" for Taylor Kitsch and that was just ughhh for me in the movie. (That's a minor point about the whole character but one that really stuck with me.) Honestly, I don't see much purpose in criticizing the series pre-First Class because it was terrible. So it's kind of a can of worms for me even talking about character details.

Funny I was just thinking the problem with Gambit in X-men origins: Wolverine wasn't Taylor Kitsch's fault. He was doing his best with crappy dialogue, uninspired plotting, and poor directing.

I still want a deadpool movie! Though I have moved on from thinking Ryan Reynolds can portray the character. If he has a mask on, then they just need someone that can do martial arts, and have someone do the voices :p

That's the kind of thinking that led people to want Gina Corrano as Wonder Woman. Sure she could look the part and we know she could carry off the fights they'd have her do, but the drama...the acting stuff, the stuff that makes you care about the character...can she do that and carry a franchise? Corano isn't there in her development as an actor I don't think. (Of course I would say that about Gal Gadot too and we don't know she can carry the fights like Corrano could )

As for DP...I like him as a character...he was the thing that made Hulk vs Wolverine shine, but to do him right they need a movie with a solid R rating for violence which limits your audience and they're profitability....I despise the abomination of what they did to the Merc with a mouth in X-men Origins but outside of something like that or as part of X-force I don't see Fox going for a DP solo movie.

I should've noted there, my blanket "poor plot/writing" statement - it goes for all of the first X-Men live action films and not necessarily the actors. But I wasn't happy about Taylor Kitsch for Gambit. He did do his best but that script was just beyond repair.

Anyway, as for Wonder Woman - I just want Wonder Woman. It's time. I get that we're going to have a Superman lead-in but I want her series to be as fine-tuned as possible. We'll see.

Wonder woman is another one I want to see accomplished. An African American superhero lead and a Female superhero lead. Of course it looks like DC doesn't really know what the hell they're doing in this area.

Man their competition makes them look so bumbling in comparison.

How hilarious would it be if Marvel gets a Captain Marvel movie out before DC releases Wonder woman (the penultimate Superheroine made second to a character that never had that level of notoriety in the comics)?

The first one I thought was "alright", but yeah, X2 and X3... omg.

Jackman, Stewart and Mckellen were the only good things in those movies.

I didn't say the first 3 X-films were crap...they're not total crap...I was just saying they were disappointingly short of what they should have been.

Compared to say: Shamhammer's The Last Airbender the X-films weren't even on the scale of the ole Crap-ometer.

GET HIM!

Heh, yeah. I am glad I haven't wasted my time with Airbender. I keep hearing how bad it was.

On another subject (Not sure if it was covered)

Hobbit movies?

DId they really have to make them into three movies? I would have been happy with two.

Yeah taken for what they are...a pair of wolverine movies with occasional cameos of the X-men...Both of those are good, even great....let's not get into the Last Stand....But Fox should have done so much more and so much better in highlighting not just one member but the WHOLE team.

X-men is an ensemble property they've made into a film with a single star in the spotlight, and I feel disappointed by that direction.
