I’m not focused on rumors, I read a couple of articles implying that 50 to 100 k N Korean troops could be packing their duffel bags for a tour in Ukraine. I heard a retired one star on one of the news channels back up the article.

Fast forward a year, and the Ukrainian Army is still advancing but painfully slowly against an entrenched enemy protected by minefields that sometimes can be over three miles deep. Last year, one person compared the fighting to El Alamein, the beginning of the end of the Second World War. This year, it has instead been compared to the bloody battles of the First World War.
“Perhaps the biggest difference from 2022 is that so many people have now died,” said Dmytro Natalukha, a Ukrainian MP attending the conference. “One in two people now know somebody who has died in the fighting. I’ve lost count of the number of my friends I’ve lost.”
One officer, speaking off the record, spoke about the toll that attacking across minefields against well-dug-in defenders without air cover had taken on his company. The men replacing those who had fallen, he added, lacked the same level of training and motivation. And, if the war drags on for one or two more years, the strain on Ukraine’s limited human resources could become immense.
But for all the death and suffering Ukraine has endured, it still remains defiant.
“The reason I fight is for revenge,” said Masi Neyyem, a soldier whose face still bears the scars he got from a mine blast in June last year. “I want revenge in the most horrific way that international conventions would allow. The more Russians die, the better it is. As a combatant I still have the right to kill the Russians. And this is what I want most of all.”

The truth is, the more they wander into those minefields the more mines the Russian artillery drops behind them, that's how it got to be three miles wide. It's a slaughter pen. They're down to about ten brigades, at best about 50,000 men, that's it. Remember this was the "Spring Offensive" that was going to push the Russians back into Russia. Your sources are lying to you.
The truth is, the Ukrainians have penetrated the first and second lines of defence near Robertine ( spelled wrong I am sure). Currently they are shoring up the flanks, before pressing south toward Tokmak.
Ukraine has also built up it's beach head at mouth of Dinpro river. Russia can't transfer troops from the Khersan region, and have to bring them in from Karkiv 400 miles away.
Good luck with your expectations wrongway. If Ukraine had the F-16's now, Russia would be fucked. They don't so this will drag on through the winter. Russia will try and drum up so more troops and equipment. Ukraine will then go back on the offensive next spring,and the war will end sometime in 2024.

Ah!!! The magic word, air superiority, ya need air superiority in air land battle. Had Biden provided A-10s and F-16s more than a year ago they’d be sitting in Putin’s lap. They, the Ukrainians have been battling a war of attrition.
I'm assuming by "they'd be sitting in Putin's lap" that you mean Ukraine would be in Crimea? I agree.

Nay, nay fuzzy..... those F 16s and the mighty A 10s would be scattered all over Ukraine piloted by Ukrainian drivers. It takes time to learn a weapons system as complex as the F 16 is. Russia’s anti aircraft systems and their migs will make short work of these under skilled pilots. These ain't goat herders they'd be squaring off with..
The only hope of aircraft survivability is the highly trained U.S. pilots. Also who will maintain these very complex and sophisticated weapons systems. remember fuzzy the aircraft is but just 1 peice of the whole weapons system....
Russia is far and away from being beat.....

Also, part II: The F-16s main advantage is its stand-off ability, which allows for safer delivery of payloads on targets. The advanced radar on an F-16 is orders of magnitude better than what the Ukrainians currently are using.
Also, part III: I would imagine an F-16 is far more reliable, with less need for maintenance than the ancient aircraft currently being used by the Ukrainians.

You are very correct about the F 16, she a very tough bird but aging. Far and away better than the obsolete equipment they formerly had, it won't be enough, it's not just the su 400s they must concern themselves with. The 400 missile system is but 1 of many. As far as her stand off capability, top draw to say the least. With that said all the Russians need to do is wack the runways, and her support systems......
