Sorry, guys, but I couldn't hold mine any longer. Got frustrated at the posts in the "Frustrated" thread.

I went back in there, too. I get more and more frustrated each time I see what his attitude is about the whole thing. I wonder if his wife has any idea what he's thinking?

We've had conversations about it, yes. She's a terrific lady, and we communicate well. I think the whole thread was an exercise in frustration for everyone. I suppose some just turn out that way, huh? Like cock size threads? (What's that all about?)

As for holding my tongue, believe it or not I try to keep my sense of humor and perspective. While there have been those who annoy me, I try to remember that on boards (as in real life) you don't always get along with folks. And getting into it tit-for-tat just isn't worth it. Sometimes, ya just can't help it. And I know you know what I mean!

Was? That horse isn't dying yet, because I just got here.

And I know you know what I mean!
Yes. Yes I do. And I hold grudges.

I have backed out of a couple more because I felt like the thread was half bitching and smart assed and the people responding seemed to be in that mindframe.

I tend to be serious and appreciate serious conversations. I do lighten up on occaision, but probably not nearly as often as others would like. I wonder how many people respond with nasty comments just to vent frustrations they are feeling in their lives. I have seen some rather ascerbic responses that seemed unwarrented. I take the position that I'm rather glad I only have to put up with it for a moment, but they actually have to live with themselves.

Does this topic include posts such as "Does Tongue Size Matter?"

To be honest I haven't read it. I'm afraid to. Ohhhh Plleeeeeeeezzzzzeeeeee!!!!!!

for me... if things are so damned serious that i get wrapped up in it as if it were a life altering event, i just leave. it's the internet after all, and while i give topics the weight they merit, i can't make it all that significant.

now... if i see something that's wrong, or i disagree with, i'll try to make a considerate counterpoint. i also try to read threads all the way through before responding. if i have nothing significant to add i'll either say something totally useless or abandon it.

of course, i HAVE been known to make a sarcastic remark from time to time. usually i reserve those things for people who know i'm not bein' a complete douche bag.

Presicely!!!

I have backed out of more threads than I can count. Even when I just want to say what is seeminly obvious to the rest of the posters. Personally, since I am kind of new here, I really don't want to create any enemies. So, even though holding back a post, I keep my opinion to myself. It's true that some people will get deffensive, but if someone feels as though they are being attacked, their natural instinct is to strike back. Also, some things are better learned by one's self instead of asking a bunch of people to make their decision for them....No offense to anyone that posts intended.

Ok, I've babbled enough for now. Good luck with this thread. It gives one alot to think about.

Best Wishes,
Batman

How many times do you find yourself doing this on Lit? I have to admit, I just read through a thread (I'm not going to say which one) that caused me to say, out loud, "Dude, you're just a dick in a glass case -- break in case of emergency. She's keeping you around in case she needs to use you." However, I know that that advice is way more harsh than what said person needs to hear, so I said nothing . . . which I think is best, considering the circumstances.

Anyhow, to the advice-givers, do you ever hold your tongue? Do you read through a thread and back away before you say what you know needs to be said, or do you tell it like it is?
Yes...
It's really not my place to say anything and also - I hate to hurt anyone's feelings. I am a...softheart. On the otherhand-

If I am face2face and I know you - directness and honesty, mixed with my tactlessness...will bring the truth...even if I hurt feelings. I would rather know the truth - than have my feelings hurt. I am a crybaby and well...I would rather cry from the truth than from having my feelings hurt.
