Interesting question, and as I considered an answer my perspective changed a little bit.

I agree with that. Not to be argumentative but I don't think I wrote anything to suggest otherwise - I certainly didn't mean to.

I put a big emphasis on being discerning and in control. It isn't that I am untethered from the opinion of others but that I decide to whose opinion I may be tethered. My husband's is certainly one of them. And for each person with whom I do have relationships I decide what aspect of my life they may influence which is generally limited to the things that affect them. The inflection point for me comes when people or society try to tell me how to run my life in relation to things that are genuinely none of their business.

A hot wife must take a lot of responsibility for making sure she not only respects explicit parameters but also generally respects the intent and spirit of our marital arrangement and the context in which we exist.
