Just a typical AH thread - nothing to see here

I actually have a fan fic where as adults out of college, Lucy let him kick the football to prove her feelings for him.
I have a fanfic (Rendezvous 2) where a famous actress recounts her fantasy of being the redhead who loves Charlie Brown and reflecting on various deep emotions. All the time the other actress listening to her is thinking “Good grief, I can’t stand this woman!” They end up lesbian lovers, of course.

Wanted to be Heather Wold? That's kinda funny.

Didn’t know the character had a name. I was referencing an interview I found with the actress Alicia Witt about her serial dating issues.
Most people don't. She's always listed as and called The Little Redhead Girl, and for the longest she didn't have one. Sparky was asked about her once and he said she's based off a friend of his and technically that would be her name, which is his friends real name. It's kinda a unofficial official thing.

Another bit of trivia is he gave Franklin the last name of the creator of Jumpstart because he liked the comic; Armstrong. When Fergie was a kid she voiced a character in one or two of the movies. I think it was Patty or Frieda, I forget.

I see I’m not the only author with in-jokes in my writing but then, I knew that already. ;)

Today sucks about thirty-seven-million times more than most other days. Sometimes I hate corporate jobs.

Hugs and ponies for everyone.
That's some impressive math right there ;)
Serves you right for being a capitalist pig, though. You should join the proletariat who teaches in public high school, it's where all the fun is :geek:

On a more serious note, try not to punch your boss. Non-con is on thin ice at the moment 😬

I am also sending some good vibes before Em scolds me thread ruining

There's a thing here called Shakespeare In The Park, where the local acting folks have been performing his plays for years now. I think they do it from May to July, every night.
Don't think I'll be going to Kentucky to enjoy it. It may be around here, but I don't remember ever hearing about it. But cowboys are all over the parks.

It's not his fault, nor HR's fault - the poor HR girl who was on my calls today was holding back tears.

Oh, no, this is down to pure corporate greed, shady dealings by our parent company, and the consequent and entirely predictable shafting by the labyrinthine, barbed horse cock of the US DOJ. Unintended consequences have now happened, and today marks the effective end of the line for an engineer whose only fault was going home to his home country in 2019 when the Pandemic was ramping up, and this suddenly being an issue now due to $reasons. And he won't be the only one so affected.

I'm so angry you could boil a kettle on me. But there's nothing I can do. Except update my CV, because my job's relationship status was in peril already and now it's firmly in 💔 open to new opportunities.

I have never once taken a hit from a joint, nor have I ever taken a puff of a cigarette. Never snorted anything, injected anything, and even after a surgery refuse to take anything other advil for pain

Upside of that is good health. Downside is....I have nothing to blame for being the way I am.
Snap, likewise never been drunk.

Chocolate however is my vice.

My "vice" is coffee. I always try to refrain from posting anything, because I feel a little too "Grinchy" before I have that first cup in my system.

This feels like the place to express my absolute joy in being able to publish my writing here. This is a new experience for me. I'm 62 years old and had dreams of being a writer, but never truly went for it. You've given me a tremendous gift. It's the start of a new level of creativity and personal growth. I'm so very grateful.

First, thank you, Emily for this thread. Nice idea. You’re like a breath of fresh air. Next, proper Thank You’s to several good people who helped me learn how to navigate the Lit trapeze when I was new to the site. In Chronological order, James B Johnson who was a friend and often my inspiration. Electric Blue 66, there are no words. Just, Thank You. Notwise, a dear man who I cherish as a friend. Texrad, salt of the earth and many owe you thanks, yah ol’ cowboy. Srpilot/KeithD who I gotta say has never failed to answer any legit question about writing. Chloe for the many, many smiles she’s given to and inspired from her fellow writers. (The more I think, the more I realize how many more are due so much appreciation and thanks.) SimonDoom, you made Teddy Bears and Penis-fish-aliens seem almost normal during Covid. TarnishedPenny, Yowser, Zeb, BeachBum, Lori the Hoosier, and so many others… Like Ogg, who left all too soon but with his usual grace and quiet nature. And lastly, but certainly at the top of my list… Sam Scribble, who so many admire, and who is the most gentle-natured man I’ve ever known. Sam, you put the ‘C’ in class, my friend. (Please return soon because you’re sorely missed in your absence.) Great appreciation to those I’ve neglected to name, and you KNOW who you are. You’re all so special and you give so much of yourselves that you all deserve medals of valor. Thank you. 😘
