Lord Pmann wants to discuss Brianna38

As someone who who has no idea who this Lord Pmann is, I can confirm this.
Idk. I’m skeptical on that one 🧐😝

I don't have anything specific to add to what has already been said. I chatted with Brianna a bit in the threads, and I have to say I liked them, even if the sparkly unicorn puppy rainbow stuff was eye-rollingly saccharine. It sat a little oddly with me, but I didn't have the smarts (or, frankly, the interest) to pick up on anything more.

But what has struck me is how a fake profile - and one with quite dark motives if some of the suggestions here are right - could still inspire and touch lots of people on Lit with their kindness and positivity. I won't presume to draw broader conclusions from that, but I am conscious I myself could be kinder and more positive here sometimes, and I'll try to take that as my lesson here, rather than refusing to trust anyone on Lit in future.
I do agree with a lot of aspects of what you’re saying here.

Karen Kraft had more than this much attention and is often referenced to this day on the GB. That situation was also recently posted about in Dio’s Lit Urban Legends, Myths, Conspiracies thread.

ETA: 10 pages of threads with “Karen Kraft” in the title.
Yes, I'm sure there's 10 other cases that I don't even know about. I do recall KK.

Do you remember the one I was talking about? I can't remember the username, it was a petit brunette with very "Republican" views, "she" was in relationships with some people over the years, and some towards the end found out it was a guy this whole time.

Trekka’s PSA:

Join dates can be misleading. People make several accounts at various time points so they can play several “Alts” at once.

It’s like training Pokémon. They take time with each alt to flesh it out a bit here and there. That way, when it’s time to bring the alt out to “use it,” it looks more legit.

So, folks hang onto ancient accounts with rando join dates for alty shenanigans, which vary from harmless to hurtful.

TLDR: The join dates doesn’t *necessarily* mean as much as we sometimes think they do.

True. My join date is when I discovered Literotica. I assumed the site was nothing more than a place to read and write erotica. Then I discovered the role-play chat rooms (ick). I didn't stumble into this side of it until last February.

Ahhh yes, the old "alts" nonsense. Is it as bad as it used to be?

Well, apparently, it’s worse, as this time around, a lot of feelings got hurt, tits and a death got faked, a husband alt named Jim showed up, AND a gofundme was proposed…

There is debate as to which gender masqueraded as which. —> most say it was a chick pretending to be a chick ie local private dicks @Mo_Bandy and @Lord Pmann

And subquestion: does the gender matter at all? —> today, @aussiegeekygal says no 😂

And subsubquestion: does outing this type of thing even matter? —> most say yes, because it’s not okay with the general Lit community to be deceitful and manipulative and ultimately hurtful.

I’m happy to see people joining together here to say “No, this level of deception is not cool in our little litland ecosystem.” ❤️

She dropped off my radar a while back with a story we worked on. Haven't heard from her since. I will not go into it any further. I am putting her on my ignore list. I have already hurt someone I care about by dealing with Brianna. End of Story. Good evening.
Fair enough. Sorry to draw you in.

I don't get it. People upset cause someone lied on an anonymous website...and many of these same people voted for Trump. Go figure. I guess that says a lot. I was wrong..
I get it.
I’m far from upset but am I skeeved out by it all? Yeah. I think it’s weird. There are people here who have real connections, or long for them, meet, and whatever else..I mean I guess I don’t have to tell you any of that. You know. And I [apparently ignorantly] don’t immediately assume the people I talk to here are outright lying. Also just throwing it in that I didn’t vote for trump.

Come on, Dribs. You've got to understand why we are talking about this. This isn't someone lying about dick size. It's someone lying about having a dick. Then that vagina went and died on us.

Let's try to keep politics out of here. I'm not sure how you worked that one in, but I'm impressed. It's a divisive subject and right now we are trying to look through every detail of this little scammer's lies. Let this be the subject that brings political parties together. 💘

It's not just lying though, it's a long term project of manipulation and deception. I'm tending to think it was all a satire, and that there must be a reason why it unravelled quickly and presently.

Aside from that we should all use the episode as a reminder to be as honest as possible within our own situations. An awful lot of behaviour here is based on misrepresentation, and the use of alts is pernicious. Lit would be a better experience if this wasn't so.

Of all the places in the world Lit is a great escape. Kit and I found each other here 8 years ago. We came here because we knew we couldn’t use basic vanilla dating websites. We have a strong and deep love of physical intimacy. We wanted to be open with each other. Didn’t want to have to dance around what or what not to say to each other. This was back when we had two different accounts.

The joy of Lit is freedom not to be judge because we maybe are kinky. We need more then just hand holding to get by in a relationship. We need to know we can share wants, needs, and desires.

I’ve personally been part of Lit since the early days. Because so many chats just shut down. Here we could meet people to enjoy and play with. We could meet friends that you didn’t have to be shy around.

It’s awful that people can take advantage of others here. It’s the price of being a anonymous website. You really don’t know till you speak or hear the other person behind the name.

Have faith friends, some have been hurt and it was wrong to be lied to this way. In the end always know there are a lot of good people here. A lot that just want to be free and open about who they are, and we can’t let the bad ones divide us.

The reason why it unraveled quickly was because these things always do.

This is like the billionth time I've seen this in a social media community, going all the way back to the usenet days. And there's always the same general outline...something precipitates the faking of the death--here, it's not exactly clear to me what, but it's usually either that the scam has unraveled, or the death is part of the scam--and then, because people are kind and generous, there is the outpouring of grief and sometimes money in that quick intense time after the death, and then people start questioning. Then it all unravels very fast, because the reason why these things don't fall apart earlier is that that few are focusing, looking carefully. But the scams usually don't stand up to scrutiny at all. And the next stage of grief is being pissed off.

And then it becomes part of the lore of the site.

It's also sad, and it's unfortunate that a lot of people get hurt by it.

Why aren’t people more angry about screen shot of pics?? That’s what I want to know.

People have discussed it and some are angry about it. One could argue the person knew they were fake (he obviously did) and saved them for that reason. I wouldn’t do that, but I get it.

What’s weird is if people are just saving other photos for their own amusement (🍆 💦). And sadly, some people are.

It's a public forum. There is no guarantee of privacy. And it's a public forum about sex, basically. It's totally unsurprising to me.

Not that I don't think that it's kind of creepy in a general way, but I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of people saving pics. In this case, it's been pretty useful.
