Male subs aren't really outnumbered, but they are reacted to differently, so they tend not to post. A lot of them still have the issues associated with generations of conditioning that males are to be in charge, strong, and whatever else ... and being submissive means being less of a man. Getting past those issues takes a lot of courage (which hopefully this thread can help to inspire) and a lot of work. There are a lot of people in the lifestyle who still have those silly notions of what is "masculine" and "manly" .... personally, I think any man who not only knows who and what he is, but has the courage to try and get it is more of a man than most I know, but it seems that most people out there don't agree (I'm not talking about most on this site, just people in general).
There is a thread on the collarme forums that I keep thinking about in reguards to this - about bringing out the masculinity in male subs who think that being submisive is less masculine ... I'll have to dig it up and get some of the good stuff from there
