You could introduce the mask to the apartment cleaning routine and make a beautiful ritual out of putting it on...explaining why You think it is necessary...checking the straps and buckles from time to time to reinforce the feelings of vulnerability and occassionally give those damn panties a stroke or two.

It is amazing what just the addition of one piece of equiptment can do for a moment of control.
