Day 23: A film that means a lot to you personally

Oooffff I was wondering if anyone was gonna mention Martyrs
It didn't really "scare" me. These kind of horrors rarely do. Within the genre, the psychological horror scares me more. For example, The Ring (Japanese version) and Two Sisters really scared the hell out of me. lol But I had a very hard time watching Martyrs and I remember liking the movie a lot. Especially the ending. I've seen it only once but I still vividly remember it today.

Yeah , I have not watched it. I know what it’s about I’m and I’ve discussed it a lot with folks whose opinions I trust and know it ain’t for me . But scary isn’t really the word I’d use as much as disturbing?

… But scary isn’t really the word I’d use as much as disturbing?
scary or disturbing… any movie that might possibly be described by either of those terms is not for me. 🤣🤣🤣

There are a few “scary” movies I enjoy, but after I watched one particular movie, I decided I won’t watch anything like that ever again. I didn’t know who gross and demented the movie was before I saw it, and to this day, I wish with all my heart, I had never seem that vile, evil f-ing movie. 🤣🤣🤣

Day 23: A film that means a lot to you personally
Wow.. ok, this is a personal one.

Not the most sophisticated of the ones I can think that were special at points in time, but as my son was growing up I took him to all the marvel movies up to this one, so it was our thing, and well before this my younger daughter used to say I love you fifty thousand times infinity when we read in bed at night ..something must have flew in my eye at this moment in the cinema

Day 23: A film that means a lot to you personally
When I heard they were making this, I knew I would have to see this in the theater. Growing up, my mom always listened to Elvis and we would watch his movies on Sunday afternoons. After she passed a few years ago, every time I would hear Elvis I'd think of her. The last 30 minutes of the film I sat in my seat and ugly sobbed knowing how much she would've loved it.

Day 24: A film made my your favorite director
I don't really have a favourite director. Some of the directors whose films I generally love are already represented here, so I'll go slightly leftfield with a guy whose body of work may me patchy at times, but when he was on form, fuck did he make some good movies.

And probably the director as much as anyone who is the biggest influence in me.

John Landis
