September Film Challenge 🎬

Yeah , I have not watched it. I know what it’s about I’m and I’ve discussed it a lot with folks whose opinions I trust and know it ain’t for me . But scary isn’t really the word I’d use as much as disturbing?
Bingo! Disturbing is the right word to describe that movie. I remember discussing it on the IMDB boards and it was very controversial, which I thought it was an interesting thing for a movie of this genre.

Day 24: A film made my your favorite director

Kill Bill - Quentin Tarantino.
I don't know if I have a favourite director but I think Tarantino is always doing something interesting.
I remember renting this on video and immediately rewinding and watching it again.
I love that you described renting it and rewinding it. Took me on a trip down BlockBuster Video lane. 😂

In the interest of not repeating films he already used, I’ll say Park Chan Wook’s maybe not my favorite but he is one of the few directors I'll watch something on based on his name alone.

Day 24: A film made my your favorite director
Tough choice. Two of my faves already have a mention. But I'll give it to Steven Spielberg. Not for his big films, but because he showed his genus very early. This movie is essentially a 90-minute chase scene, featuring a transport truck and a Plymouth Valiant. Valiant. The very name screams "Econobox". It looked like a car drawn by a talented 8-year old, with 225 cubic inches of raw Detroit, uh, power-ish...but NOBODY had ever made an entire movie a chase scene until this point.

So favorite director, torn between Tarantino and Scorsese today but going Tarantino just to show these two almost perfect scenes

And wait for the cream…..

I won’t post the tavern scene but I’m gonna watch it anyways.
Great flick. I love the tavern scene.

A good movie built around 3 fantastic fucking scenes.

QT, Jphn Caroenter, Spike Lee, Scorsese, James Mangold, and the Coens all come to mind as favorite directors. This one is from from the Coens, Inside Llewyn Davis. If you've ever been a struggling singer/songwriter (like me) you FELT this movie.

It is so hard to pick just one, but I rewatched this last night, so Akira is at the top of my list today. The palette he plays with in this film is breathtaking.
