Sex & Shenanigans

Because there has been 1 official DVD release of the Tick and I don’t think it was even in North America, it was British
It was released in the U.S. I own Volumes 1 and 2. I think an episode was but but I forget which. They’re all easily available on YouTube anyway. No excuses!

There is no similarity between a hasselback and a baked potato.

Baked potatoes are cooked by the steam that is produced inside and trapped by the skin. A Hasselback potato is essentially a potato centipede of fried potato slices, cooked by the butter that is tucked in at every cut.
Not just butter, either. I put cheese between each slice, or you can put bacon, too. There's many ways to "touch" them up.

I mean, technically it’s not dead, it’s just evolved into modern French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian and Catalan (and various other Romance languages)

If you know any kids being raised in Latin speaking communities I think the Catholic Church has an even bigger scandal on its hands!

Well, maybe not boring baked potatoes.

But baked potatoes are never boring if you put enough goodies on them!

I don't know... even with just butter, they are far more interesting conversationalists then some people I know. 🤷‍♀️
Baked potatoes are good baked with just olive oil and salt on the outside, and then butter on the inside. The addition of other things like green onions, shredded cheese, chili, or BBQ and ranch make them 🤤!

Aren’t baked potatoes more or less mashed potatoes? I just mash them up on my plate.

Noooooo! They're different! I do kind of mash mine down too... but it's a totally different consistency!
I’m gonna say no too! Mashed potatoes are peeled and boiled, and then drained and mashed with butter, milk or cream, garlic, salt, etc.

I completely I understand your point about texture. But if I mash a potato with butter on my plate, or I mash a potato with butter in a bowl, it’s essentially the same thing. The texture is different because of ingredients not mashing.

Just an opinion of course.
The texture is different because of the cooking method.

Picture a potato like a kernel of corn.

Steam it, grill it, or boil it, the texture is more or less the same.

But let the outside dry out and THEN heat it up, and you have popcorn. The baked potato is the popcorn of potatoes. Lighter and fluffier because of the captured steam. And if you let it go too long, it WILL pop.

Potato, sliced once, covered in olive oil, baked

Potato, sliced multiple times, covered in olive oil, baked.

Nothing similar. Apples and organs.
