Despite being 2/3s in love with Martin Freeman, I didn't love the movie, but I've probably read those books 10 times, and they are still the only ones that make me burst out laughing while reading them.

Which 2/3s? I love Martin Freeman too, and I know for a fact at least one other person here does, but I agree that the film was disappointing. The books, though, I love, and though I have not read them in a few years I still have huge chunks committed quite accidentally to memory.
