I'm guessing that unlike my workout the other day, yours did not involve a rowing machine and barbells?

Never mind.

:p
see the frog's tougue
:D
see the big idiot grin on 1201's face
:(
see the look of sadness, as 1201 realizes he doesn't have the stamina your californian Uberfuher (Arnie) has
:(
see the further look of sadness with the realization he couldn't match the Mutt
;)
still 1201 is happy with that thought
:) , and thinks about when he was young and had heart and lungs:heart:

Thank you so much Gina. I knew this had to be updated but I haven't had a chance to get to it. And a zillion thank-yous for getting all those links together--it was a lot of work, I know. We all owe ya for that!

Ok, you poets! Thanks to Gina you now have noooo good reason not to go rummaging through each other's poems. Have fun.

:)

I'm looking at poems

for this challenge, and I reread this one and just thought "Wow. This is really really good." So I'm sharing. :)

If this happens to anyone else, feel free to post it.

Still Life with Rumpled Flesh
by darkmaas ©

Scatterlings of Erin and Albion
You were my baby, Babylon.
I was a still life, death warmed over,
You the moist and quiet lover.
Caught ‘tween Priapus and a soul so grey
‘Tween cloister quiet and the loud café
‘Tween milky pablum and red, red wine
‘Tween mahogany sheen and clear white pine.

You take your tonic with a little gin.
Like your fun with a little sin.
Cool grey eyes but that smile so nice.
I’m still sipping my rye with ice
Better bring me a helping fresh
Of that warm and gently rumpled flesh.

1201, the above quote is from my original post, so there would be a way to know who used what line from whose poem, but--as I originally suggested it--you wouldn't know unless you looked at both the submitted poem and this thread. That, admittedly, is not the best way to do it.

So I'm thinking we should include that info when we post the poems. Here's an example of how it would work.

Sample Poem (which I just wrote):

Feathered Moment
by Angeline

Brother crow left me feathers.
I picked them up, they were
rain slick, so I could count
each black moment, soft
and distinct, know them
separately as if flight
had lifted my wingless
arms, as if each gave me
one bird moment
though I've never
climbed above a tree,
or swayed a wire
and imagined the possibilities.

Crow Moon by Tathagata
mountain majesty by perks

So, the first line is from Tath's poem Crow Moon, the last is from Perks mountain majesty. If I submitted the poem, I'd do it just like that--with the two references following the poem so everyone knows where I got them.

Make sense to everyone? Seems like a good way to do it to me.

:)

Well fuck. I thought it was three lines and I was gonna do it. You are killin me Ange. I have stayed out of this thread trying to resiste the temptation. Damn it.

Okay I will do it

but only if it can be 3 lines

I think it is only fair, I should not get more lines than the others :)

thanks for the example, I am a little slow with directions

I want to be in.
In between.

I want to make myself into a Seattle sandwich between two sexy poets.

hmmm. I think Belegon and Neo, their AV's look like a nice place to be wedged between right about now.

goddamn how is a girl supposed to get any work done around here?

God I hope someone uses me.
