The 2022 Geek Pride Story Event: Official Support Page

Nothing at stake?!? What about the Glory?

I have not finished anything in a long time, but I have a partly completed Time Travel story with Group Sex and BDSM aspects to it, that I hope to complete in time for this. It is tentatively called "Time Enough". And, yes, I stole that from RAH himself.

Excuse me. I have to pick up a buncha dangling participles and stitch together a crap load of split infinitives.
Or not.

As I said I haven't written in a while. I stopped by today and saw that all my stories have been downvoted into oblivion. Or at least the stories that had higher marks / decent scores are now very low rated. And no comments. WTF? Why bother? Okay, I have tangled with a few trolls in AmPics and BDSM, but do people trash stories as some sort of revenge? Am I being sensitive? Paranoid? I want feed back, but a bunch of low votes is just being petty. Does this happen?

Yes, sadly.

I assume there is nothing I can do short of removing my stories and admitting that "they", whoever they are have won? I mean, I am under no delusions as to my ability. I write for entertainment primarily. But a little gratification via feedback goes a long way.

You can freeze scores, turn off scoring, prevent anon comments - and do it either across your portfolio or story by story. If you want to keep your stories here, but not cop the negativity, they're your choices.

Thank you. I am going to drop this now. I do not want to hijack this thread.

Yes it happens all the time. For months I had 4 stories with little red H next to them. I wrote a story that people hated, not only did they down vote the hated story, they down voted the other stories from months before. No one had voted on the other stories for months, suddenly they were getting down voted.

You can make a request of Laurel to run a sweep on your whole story file. That might help.

I am beginning to see that this is way too common.

Thank you. several people have suggested this. I sent a message a couple of days ago. Hoping for the best.

Geeky? Me? I don't have time to be geeky about anything, I'm behind on my Anime viewing, my manga reading, studying for my amateur radio HAM license, and building my model train layout and... oh, I see what you mean. What the heck, I've tossed three entries into the On The Job contest, I may have a story kicking around in my head for this one too... I just finished this awesome anime... 🤔

DONE!!!

Holy smoke! 26,300 words in 10 days, and I LOVE MY STORY! And there's still a month and a half before I can submit?

Ok, while you're engraving my name on the trophy, I'll start on another story...

Unfortunately, you'll have to buy your own trophy. There's no prize for Geek Day apart from a feeling of smug satisfaction.

Oh, and if there was a prize, I'd win. 🤣

D&D-style gameplay would fall under this event, right?

If that's the case, would two different stories with the same cast of characters be eligible?

Oh of course that would be fine. It's an event, not a competition, so the "rules" are pretty loose. Go for it.

Wow!!!! Congratulations.

That's impressive. I'm good for 2k words in a week or so, what with responsibilities and home life and work life.

I have two stories I think I can write with all this time that will suddenly evaporate as real life rears its ugly head:

1. A newly formed group of D&D players meet at school (university) and the experienced lady-bard seduces the real-life virgin cleric.

2. I'll take ideas for category here. Two guys are play-testing a new board game they're developing and they need a third person to help. ONe uses Tinder and promises beer and pizza and the girl who shows up was expecting to have sex, not actually play a board game.

Any thoughts on the direction for that second one? I'll take ideas and help, please.

So, does any particularly honest and patient soul feel like editing my potential submission? Fair warning: you will be cursing my name from the rooftops when you finish drowning in the Gibsonian flood of anti-worldbuilding.

About 2/3 of the way through with 17,500 written. I should easily  be finished in time.
But we sold our property and bought a new house. Moving over the next couple of days and
wouldn't you know it. The ONE supplier I forgot to call is our internet provider. Lord knows when
I can get hooked up again after today. I'm going to call and beg!

How big, and what category? Inquiring minds would like to know...

- My story's all but done. I just need a decent ending to wrap it all together.

Sci-Fi for sure. The big sex scene is futa on femboy, more or less. 7.2k words.

I'm definitely digging these higher word counts, though. They make feel saner.

Now, do I feel saner because I don't write as many words on average, or because I do? My published stories tell a different tale from some of my backlog.

I'll be there, even if it kills me.

I know I haven't posted much lately -- been really busy, published my first full-length novel last summer -- but I'll be damned if I miss Geek Pride!

Still debating which premise to go with.

- Pro Wrestling in my technomagic setting
- A "Gundam Build Fighters / Angelic Layer" homage in my technomagic setting (working title: The Golem Game)
- Another stand-alone that takes place at my "Anime Horde" convention
- "The Witch From Another World" -- a reverse Isekai where a fantasy witch gets reincarnated on modern Earth -- and brings the magic with her. "That Time I Got Reincarnated As A College Girl"

I'm certainly open to suggestions. How's everyone been?

I like this one, go for it! I did a fan fic on my current favorite Isekai Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There! I sent a US Marine to the feudal Roman Empire full of elves, bunny girls, cat girls, Roman legions and the Japanese SDF. I'll draw criticism from the Otaku because I didn't remain pure to the Light Novel series, but I'm not too worried about them.

I quite enjoy GATE, lots of fun -- and the opening theme song seriously rocks!

Also I'm thinking that "The Witch From Another World" is my best approach, yes. :)

I'm posting this thread to officially kick off the "2022 Literotica Geek Pride Story Event”.

Chloe -- would it be kosher to post a link to a public post of my patreon, where I previewed the first part of the Geek Pride story I'm working on? Seemed like that would be a better way to handle it rather than dumping a couple thousand words into a forum post.

I've got 10k words written so far on A WITCH FROM ANOTHER WORLD, and no sex scenes as of yet. :) But they're on their way, no worries on that score. I know of one definite sex scene that's the main event (so to speak), but I'm contemplating adding some others in as well.

I might have one for this. Well, I have a recurring cast of geeks wanting some more encounters, so that counts, right?
