The 2025 750 Word Story Challenge Support Thread

Having posted a few of these stories now, I'm a little worried that moving forward, I will constantly feel a need to pare down anything I write and make it shorter. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

First of all, there was no actual anal in the story, but it was implied at the end. Secondly, I don't really understand the need to loudly state how much you don't like anal in the comments.

Like there are absolutely filthy/taboo works on this site but you somehow draw the line at the mere mention of someone's rear end?

It's very dumb, it will probably get massacred in the ratings, but I was giggling the whole time I wrote it... And THBGato pointed out that I injected -- intentionally or not -- a bit of satire against modern parasocial influencer exploitation

I feel your pain. My recent VD story was 5.0 after ten votes but within a few hours it got pummeled so low that no sweep will rescue it.

I thought it was Fun. As for being silly.... Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs...and what's wrong with that? and I certainly agree with Sir Paul. Nothing bad about being sweet, simple and giggly: in fact, the world needs more of it.

Yeah, kills me too. You post a story, get few 5s or 4s, feel great, and then people just have to come in and toss low scores at you. Happened several times, it is if people who read slower are more judgemental.

Last year plenty of people squeaked my story was too short @750 so I expanded it a 23,376 full-blown affair. I was also getting the jack with people crying about "reality" so I put together a boring story that I felt would reflect real life for those who want "reality". Of course, it was too boring. You'll see from the results, wasn't much in it between the main two versions. If anyone does release a full-blown story based on their 750 worder, would be interesting to see how that plays out too.

After the feedback all the feedback I've gotten, I have decided that I will be turning into a full blown stories. My mind is running wild with all the potential scenarios involving Gemma and Priya. They're ideas that I've never really explored in my stories before but what I've got envisioned in my head is quite naughty

The themes of my 750ers from last year both turned into new stories but interestingly, in both cases the POV changed and the new stories could easily be read and understood without knowing or reading the associated 750er.
