The 2025 750 Word Story Challenge Support Thread

This 750 word is tough business 😔 I managed two submissions but it has not helped me one bit in writing the third one.

What started as the struggle to reduce 800 words to 750 has ended up in a 5k+ long tear-jerker, totally unfit for an erotica site. Maybe it can find a place in non-erotic category.

My story has stalled at 4:28, which is not bad for a 750 worder. Its View count is slowly increasing still, but the scoring has stopped these last few days. I reckon folk are just moving on with a shrug, saying not for me, but not bothering with scoring at all. Which is refreshingly adult behaviour.
Mine stopped at 4.35 with 69.

Got to be happy with that. 😂

4.26 / 123 votes, and some lovely comments. Very happy with that for a 750 word effort. Also in great admiration of some of the other efforts - it's such a nice format because it makes it so easy to sample other people's wares really easily. I've really enjoyed reading them.

I wrote four so far, I don't know if I'll make any more or not, but I LOVED writing in this format, and I've been really happy with the response! 😁

Yessss absolutely this! Now any time I peek at another writer's profile, if they've got some 750s it's the first thing I look at!

Amazing difference in votes, views and comments in different catagories.

I love that so many of the comments on 'thank you' were arguing about whether it was a Loving Wives story! For what it's worth, I think that was a great sleight of hand - you were setting expectations of the sex interest being her mother, her friend, her sister or (if pressed) the brother in law, but it was the wife all along :) And SO much engagement.

Thanks for the codo's. I knew when I put it into LW that it was going to get some kick back. I don't think there is another category on Lit that has as many myopically opinionated readers.

So finally I have completed my story. It's 8 chapters long, with each chapter exactly 750 words.
It's a non-erotic emotional journey of a character with each chapter representing a significant event or a regret in his life.

@Duleigh - I wonder if I can still submit under 750 word projects tag?

So you could place it in the fetish category? Dacryphilia ensures that what you call a tear jerker will have someone jerking to tears.

Yeah, I'll show myself out.

Is an elevator scene too cliche?

I drafted a 750 story set in one, but I looked up the term on this site and there were 900+ pages of results :/

I have two more that are still caught in that "pending" whirlpool.

Started writing 750 word stories and am finding it difficult to stop. Even wrote a 750-word WIWAW about the first two!

It is a really fun format. I've participated the past 4 times and always look forward to it.

I've got 5 up so far. I scrapped my Gay Male piece as it was going freaking nowhere fast. I have a couple of other ideas for some other categories. I'm trying to use as many categories as possible.

The Homepage says all submissions will be published at one time, on March 1, but my submission is already published. Did I read the homepage notice wrong? Word said my story was 750 before I added a note at the top and did a cut & paste submission.

You're fine, 750s get published as the come in during February! A full list of all of this year's entries is what will get published on March 1😊

Got a couple 750 word stories up this morning.

In the Anal category, I've got an ultra short story titled "Plain Jane," about an unspectacular girl with a spectacular fantasy. And in the Group Sex category, I've got one titled "Better Than Porn," in which a man somehow summons two women while masturbating.

I've got a couple more scheduled for tomorrow, another one submitted, and maybe more in the works!

These things are addictive, aren't they! I find that they can be a core for a bigger story too.

I have an IR story to submit tonight and a third story going up later, based on the @EmilyMiller subchallenge
