The end of Democracy?

Actually, Trump was denied the opportunity to present evidence in his defense and wasn't provided with proper notice as is required by due process. In short the court made a fact finding without evidence and without giving the accused the opportunity to be heard.

This is why the SCOTUS is going to hear the issue and decide. Until it does all we hear is graveyard whistling on your part.
I'm confused.
You're claiming that Colorado Supreme Court didn't give a defendant an opportunity to present evidence in his defense?
That seems odd. How did this even get to be something they would adjudicate on? You telling us that courts, especially the highest in a state, just willy nilly make decisions on things? Hmmmmmm. Were there no appeals? Was there not an initial case where trump and his legal team could've attended to state their objections or give findings?
Well, sir, I agree with you. This is an easy one. SCOTUS should immediately throw out and not even listen to this on failure of due process.

Wait. That's not what they're doing, though, is it?

I don't see any due process claims. Mr. Trump has not been deprived of any property, and he is not incarcerated. A trial was held and Mr. Trump was provided an opportunity to defend his position. The court found against him. Due process was met. Mr. Trump can, and is, appealing the decision but it would be wrong to suggest he hasn't been given due process in the matter.

While it is true that a finding of fact by a court is not in itself proof, most jurists are reluctant to overturn such findings. It is possible SCOTUS will overrule the Colorado courts, but generally when the courts do this, they generally provide some method or test by which must be used to determine such a finding. I don't think they want to do this, and I expect they will either accept this finding and uphold the decision, or find some other avenue by which the 14th amendment does not apply in this case. Until SCOTUS says otherwise, it is currently a fact of law, which as I said, is quite a bit more than a mere opinion.
You're trying to discuss a legal ruling with a self proclaimed lawyer, one who doesn't know the difference between a ruling stayed, and a ruling held in abeyance. I wish you good luck...

Trump is the greatest threat to democracy today.

The fact that you can't see or acknowledge that disqualifies you from reality.

Who's Democracy? The USA? The USA is NOT a Democracy. In fact, I'll bet you $1,000.00 you cannot find the word Democracy in the US Constitution. Nor can you find it in the Declaration of Independence. Or the Bill of Rights or any other document the defines this nation. The United States of America is a REPUBLIC. That fact that you don't know this, or don't know the difference, disqualifies you from even discussing politics in this country.

The U.S. is a Democratic Republic.

Democratic republic - Wikipedia

A democratic republic is a form of government operating on principles adopted from a republic and a democracy. As a cross between two similar systems, democratic republics may function on principles shared by both republics and democracies.

This just goes to show you how modern journalists no long think they are bound to the truth or that truth even matters.. Words just mean what they want them to mean at that moment and as it fits their narrative.

Donald Trump is the greatest threat to the Republic today.
As you may know, I despise the man. But lets look at this realistically and historically.

First of all, we have a CONSTITUTION and it is designed to keep despots (and demagogues like him) in check. That's part of what the balance of powers is mostly for. To keep our liberties intact and protect us from those that want to take them away. Some of you show you have no confidence in it... you should.

Now lets look at this historically. First of all Trump is a man of broken promises. Let me list just a few...
  • He didnt build much of a border wall at all and he certainly didnt get "Mexico to pay for it"
  • He didnt balance the budget.. In fact, he exploded it (which is an amazing accomplishment given its size. This of course was accomplished with the help of most Democrats and a few GOPs
  • He didnt "lock her (Hillary) up" In fact, his justice dept totally ignored her.
  • He didnt reduce the deficit (see above).
  • He didnt repeal Obamacare
I could go on and on here but you see my point. He's mainly a blow hard. He promises everything but delivers very little.

But he DID significantly IMPROVE the economy until COVID struck. Those that cant admit that are not being honest with themselves.

My worry about a potential 2nd term (I STILL believe it very unlikely given his legal problems) is the coarsening of our culture and the widening of our differences. These things are hard to quantify but their negative influence is undeniable. Under Trump it will get MUCH worse than any other candidate.

Men like Trump should NEVER be President. But frankly neither should men clearly and undeniably exhibiting dementia as does Biden. Its a sad sad indictment of our society that we will most likely nominate these two pathetic men to lead this nation.

GOD help us!

Yet it is the Democrats and cheerleaders like you who are trying all means of phony lawfare to keep him off the ballot to thwart small-D democracy from taking place across the country.

Just like Barack Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump is Constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of President.

You might dislike Biden, but he is legally qualified to serve as President, Trump is not.

Then pick better candidates. I see a lot of posts on both sides of the spectrum bitching about the quality of the candidates, but that's all I see, them bitching. How about getting out and working with the parties and finding better candidates.
GOD help us!
NO God isn't going to help you, and if the ballot comes up with either Biden or Trump, I hope you pick Biden, your country's survival depends on it.

That theory about Trump is not only unproven in a court of law, it is going to be shot down by the USSC soon.

Furthermore, if given an unbiased and thorough mental competency exam, Biden would no doubt be found mentally unfit for office.

Let me ask you a question... How would you react if some state, like Texas perhaps, decided to toss Biden off the ballot because of his obvious mental disability???

Joe is a career politician and diplomat with a lifetime of experience.

Donny is a street punk thug.

Do I wish the was a Joe in his 50s? Sure. Nimrata isn't that option.

But everybody knows Derpy's a Dope.

You should read the actual order instead of believing the BS of those who aren't fit to lick the dog crap off the bottom of your shoes.

If you did you'd find out that the ACTUAL LEGAL WORDS USED are "stayed" and "enjoined."

But you won't because it proves you to be wrong and that makes you look bad on the interwebz.

Unlike you I believe in our Constitution and the courts, and military sworn to defend it. And I have yet to see anything that suggests my confidence is unwarranted.

Joe ran in his 50s and was laughed out of the race for being a habitual (and stupid liar).

Can we just cut to the chase?
Was the 2020 elections stolen, rigged?
Is Joe Biden the duly elected president?
Who are you supporting currently and why?
