Did you put Halloween 2024 in the editors comment box and tag it as such?

The author must copy and paste the phrase "HALLOWEEN 2024" to the "Notes to Admin" field of the submission (without the quotation marks).
And please add the tag "HALLOWEEN 2024" (without the quotation marks)

I have one that I “finished” weeks ago, but then I started tweaking it. It’s almost doubled in size since then, and it’s still not where I want it. I’m sure I’ll make the deadline, but I’m not present for the kickoff.

I'm not entirely sure I will get either of mine published on Day 1, but I'm sure I'll make the first week. Now that I've finished the latest chapter of my series, I'm going to focus solely on my entries.

I started mine so early and was convinced it would be a short and sweet affair. But I'm still pretty far from the end, partly because there's more to it than I thought and partly because life is just doing it's thing.

One new thing I'm trying is working in a few contemporary pop culture references, which I typically avoid. (I'm an old fart; consequently, I find out about things about two weeks late.) It's a story about a generation gap, so it seemed like an appropriate way to illustrate that disconnect.

So gear up for a story about men giving it that "hawk tuah"!

Mine is also queued up for Oct. 2. I was a little concerned she'd kick it back for sexualized death content, but I guess I wasn't close enough to that line. Which is good, as it wasn't my intent.

I'm very curious how it'll be received. It's a story I've got misgivings about, though they're hard to quantify.
