The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

Yeah, I have a pair of Saloman's that are extremely lightweight and warm in winter. Plus they fit nice. They don't make them any more. And I don't want to have to go back to bunny boots when out on the snowmachine.

There's a modern remake of the bunny boot by the Alaska Gear company with some updates. I hear good things.

Yeah, the guy who bought the company is pushing the boots. They are spendy and still quite bulky. Not necessarily a boot that easily goes into my snowshoe bindings. I'm a lucky person with generally hot feet, but that's a curse if they sweat too much when it's very cold.

Fata! I kinda have a crush on Ali the n00b gay from Big Brother UK. Have you been watching it? Lololololol 😂

Anyway, I figure I’m not the best at judging character of “celebrity” type people. Like, I loved Ellen for a bit. I loved Oprah for a bit. I loved Megan for a bit.

Help! 😂

Can you just watch some of it and tell me what you think of her?

Crikey, no. I'll have a gleg later tonight at her though and see what all the fuss is about. 🤣

Turns out, it was a detached heel muscle/tendon sort of thing. Couple of shots in my feet (which were horrible) 24 hours of stying off of it, some cushy inserts and a U shaped pad. I need to do another round of steroids, which suck, cause I have a very difficult time sleeping when I take them. Follow up in a month. Back to work tomorrow, which is good, I think. Doc also said, I have a lot of nasty arthritis developing in both feet and ankles.. Hazards of my job. I'll have problems when I'm older, for sure. But that's not today, or tomorrow.

Thank you for the support!
Work place injuries are the worst, makes you realize how much you've given up for a pay cheque. Glad to hear it's fixable. My back is completely fucked due to repetitive work strain injuries, don't want to see something similar happen to you.
Still waiting to hear how all this will be hydrogen powered.
Weird. Wonder if it'll work? Good for the caribou I suppose. Cool about using hydrogen powered technology.

Fucken men and their motorbike shit see how much money they waste? And then have the audacity to ask us why we need Marino seat covers in our cars

I have to play the opposite of a baby making song and she’s requested this one:

How is this the opposite? Hello I’m gay

That looks like something I'd get for Christmas from the ex-mother in law...

I can't count how many train related gifts I've recived over the last 30 years. Most all of them have been regifted, or kept by the kids because they think it's hilarious. They will still buy me train related items, because they all have a sick sense of humor..

I only need to deal with - 30 to 40 degree windchills, in the dead of winter. That's pretty much spring for you!
Ugh, I'm not looking forward to that.

It's bound to happen, just part of the gig. I sold my soul for the money, long ago. And really, it has afforded me a great life for my children, "wives" and grandkids. I still think it was a good decision. Just like anything we do, it gets old and stale.

Mostly, I'm bored with it. It's become very easy and there isnt much challenge anymore. There isn't much room for innovation in my profession. It's basically been the same since the early 1800s. Maybe some locomotive advances, but the work? It's the same. If I could go back in time and work on a railroad in the early to mid 1800s, I would fit right in. The procedures to the vernacular are basicly the same. I do enjoy the history of it. I still find very old things still in use. Before our work location expansion, we were running on rail made before the Civil War. Very slowly, but we still used it everyday. I suppose thats what happens when everything you work around is made of thick, hard, steel... There's an innuendo in there somewhere.

Your kids sound happy. That’s lovely. I actually love trains. I almost took a job as a signaller way back when, but the hours were all over the place.

My daughter buys the best gifts. She loves it. It’s actually so nice. I’m so happy she’s coming home for Christmas this year. I went out the other day and bought a whole bunch of care products for her. A few of her favourite perfumes and hair/skin/nail care products. I brought it all home and I thought to myself, I don’t even have this shit LOL. I think we’ll have Christmas at the beach this year. Maybe on the boat. Hopefully the weather is nice. I would love to experience a white Christmas, though. That would be something.

I have these in the land cruiser and they are very nice.

They are so soft and cuddly to sit on. The benefits far outweigh the cost. When it’s 45 degrees and everything is burning, you’re comfy. When it’s zero you’re comfy. 100% win.
