The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

Finds the jar among the other bottles of various shape and size, a few choice varieties clearly lacking more liquid in them than others, and his fingers wrap around the glass, pulling it carefully free. Placing it on the bar once again - last time he did so, something far more inviting seemed to have distracted him from actually having any - he finds a fresh glass washed and waiting, and flips it over onto the bar right side up.

Unscrewing the lid, he lifts the jar to his nose and inhales, catching sight then of the blue eyes pointed in his direction. With a grin cast in her direction, he scoops up a handful of ice and dumps it in the glass, followed by a generous splash of fresh pineapple juice. The rum is last, the dark liquid mixing in among the ice and juice, and the whole thing is given a little swirl before he tastes it.

Satisfied, he screws the lid back on the jar and replaces it among the other bottles, and then makes his way over towards the edge of the pool. Stepping out of his sandals, he lowers himself down next to the freckled one, feet in the water along with hers.

"You're more than welcome to try some now," he says, offering the the glass to her. "Dark rum, cardamom, star anise, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit of orange and vanilla... quite tasty, if I do say so myself."

Sipping her drink a little enthusiastically, she waves at everyone who has arrived with a big, glad smile.

It's so cool to see everyone around, I've actually missed you guys. I'm so awful at keeping in touch.

glances at Scuttle

That's some bad hat, Harry.

grins

"Don't mind if I do," she grins, taking the offered glass and inhaling the rich variety of aromas rising from the glass. Spices and fruit, it smelled strong but inviting.

Taking a sip she sighed appreciatively and nodded.

"That's good, really good!" Another sip is cheekily stolen before the glass is held out for him to take. "Definitely something to sample again, me thinks."

"Thanks for sharing," a quick, sweet kiss is pressed to his cheek before she leans back to giggle at Serps' comment.

He watches for a moment after the glass is taken, then lets his eyes drift to the others. A wave is sent in Angel's direction, and then he laughs at PS, head shaking under his hat.

"Jaws references now? That's how you're greeting me?"

The glass is offered back to him, and he accepts it, and the kiss on his cheek, with a grin.

"Feel free! I might have another jar or two of it stashed around..."

Happy to see so many people at the pool Brit finishes her cocktail and stands.

"Well, lovely people, it's time for me to head to bed. My last week of work before the summer break starts in the morning and so I should probably go before I have any more of these!"

She grins and waves the now empty glass before her.

"But! I hope you all have a great day and enjoy yourselves while you're here."

She bends to quickly give the rum drinker a slightly firmer kiss and a grin before waving to everyone else and padding off in the direction of her little hut.

"Goodnight from my side of the world!"

Sweet dreams Brit....

*makes her way to a lounge chair to finish a post*

Aww Brit has to leave?
*sighs dramatically and places hand to cheek delicately*
How are we ever going to enjoy ourselves now!
* laughs with a wave to brit before taking up her drink again and finishing it.*

steals a kiss before Brit leaves

Goodnight, wonderful you.

glances around at the red hat again

Sorry, couldn't help it. Any more of that rum over there? And maybe a glass...?

*If there were a personifcation of a hangover it would be him. Looking miserable and disheveled, cradling his forehead in his hand and not even wearing a shirt. Last night was fun, but now I'm paying.*

*the sight of all the wonderful people around drinking makes him groan faintly, finding a place in the shade to hide in the crook of his arm*

I thought I felt my ears burning, or was that just a new dimension of this headache?

Turns a bit towards PS, his feet still hanging in the water of the pool, and gestures back towards the bar with the hand holding the half-empty glass.

"Plenty back there! I think we're mostly self-serve around here..."

Aww poor thing.
*Leans on the bar.* I'd say someone needs to learn their stopping point, but that might get me into trouble and I have to dissapear for a bit so I don't have time for any fun consequences.
*Winks and turns with a wave* chao all. I'll see you when I see ya.

Bye Bell, thanks for the advice.

Hangovers suck, Shark. I'm sorry for your self infliction.

smirks a little, and then huffs at Scuttle

You're such a grumpy pants.

gets up to serve herself

They do suck, but it's a good reminder of why I don't get wrecked like that anymore. It keeps me from doing this to myself too often. Useful pain.

*sits up enough to prop myself on my elbows*

I hope everyone else is doing at least a little better than I.

Ick! That's not a time for doing things. I'm sorry for your unfortunate schedule.

*takes a timid, delicate sip of ice water and swallows some Advil*

*poofs back in having disappeared for Father's Day phone calls*

Hi LitShark... Sorry you're feeling the effects of your evening.

*wanders back to the bar to refresh her glass of ice water*

Hi Angel.

I'm going to be eating soon, so hopefully that will help things a bit.

*smiles ruefully*

I'd say hair of the dog and all that, but sadly it never worked for me. Hopefully you have something small like crackers or goldfish to start out with first.

Ugh. I'm arguing with a guntard on facebook. I really should know better. Make mine an apple cider, please. :)

*dimples appear on either side of her mouth*

Well, stop arguing on Facebook and go read my post... ;)

*slipping behind the bar to fetch the requested apple cider*

YAY! *bolts off to read latest post, pausing only to thankfully grab the chilled bottle of delicious dry doublr pressed cider* :)

*giggles at NB's enthuastic response before turning to look thoughtfully at the varied offerings for the evening*

Hmmmmm, decisions, decisions...
