The new football thread

Patriots Christian Elliss shares that he and his brother Jonah — who plays OLB for the Broncos — have been in touch and this is special for the family knowing one will be going to the Super Bowl.

Who are the parents rooting for? 🙃
They will have to have the spilt jersey, one half broncos the other patriots

So 10 HC in total with 8 jobs still to be filled. Will anyone make Belichick an offer?
I don’t think so. There wasn’t much interest when he put his hat in the a couple years ago. Atlanta and I think one other team interviewed him but ultimately chose not to extend him an offer. His performance at the college level isn’t impressing anyone either.

The GM should have been fired as well...unless he has been asking ownership for permission to fire McDermott and has been denied.

You are correct...Allen's days are very numbered. As are Burrow's. As will be the Giants rookie.

I wouldn't be saying it was the right decision if he sat in that interview and didn't whine. That...I have no patience for. Bad Culture.
Beane absolutely should’ve been gone, not given a promotion. It’s a bad Bills Mafia week 😢

I’m bummed. Interested to see who joins as the head coach!
I hope you guys get a good one. I’m a recovering Oakland Raiders fan who said adios after they moved to Las Vegas. Family season tickets before and after they went to LA and returned, but Vegas was the final straw.

I’ve had a soft spot for the Bills. I lived in Rochester for a year and had neighbors and work colleagues who were die hard fans. One of my coworkers gave me her tickets to take my son to a preseason game. Bills Mafia is a lot like the Oakland fans were. Year round…scouting combine, draft, free agency, training camp, preseason, the regular season, and those cold playoffs in January.

You’ve got a great QB and a roster to build upon. And next year you’ll open that new outdoor stadium! I wish you guys all the best!

Hafley did a damn good job at BC. They went from pretty bad to pretty decent when he was hired, then went from pretty decent to pretty horseshit real quick after he left

BC won the Fenway Bowl in 2023 and withdrew from two other bowl games due to Covid concerns.

Looks like Robert Saleh will be the next HC of the Tennessee Titans.

6 jobs remain

Giants-Harbaugh
Falcons-Stefanski
Dolphins-Hafley
Titans-Saleh

Well if Indiana can go 16-0,have the Heisman trophy winner, and win the National Championship in fooball, anything in this world is possible. :)

So don't give up .

Mendoza upon hearing that he’ll be drafted by the Raiders…

I hate to say this because my favorite team these days is whoever is playing the Raiders, They’ve been a dysfunctional organization for decades but they could get pretty good pretty fast next year if they don’t screw up the coaching hire and they follow a disciplined rebuild plan. They’ll finally have a quarterback, they have tons of cap space to spend in free agency, and they have a lot of high draft picks. They’ve got a great tight end in Brock Bowers and decent depth at RB and WR. Their needs are OL, LB, and DB. The AFC is a tough division that’s likely to get tougher.

I can't see them passing on Mendoza. They should....in a weak QB draft class you can get more by trading the pick. And sorry...I am not sold on Brady making decisions. Raiders can't protect a rookie QB. Now...if they keep Geno and let him start...or if they pick up another QB and throw them to the wolves...then Mendoza is the smart pick.

As for Indiana....see what mistake free football does? See what happens when you don't cater to the NIL? You can't buy teams....you can only buy players. You don't need ego driven players. Discipline matters. Morality matters.

Ohio State had 58 four and five star recruits. Indiana had 0 five star and 8 four star recruits. Indiana was the best team this year.
