This story was rejected today for not being a stand alone story! Have you been talking to the dumb texan again?

I assume you're having some fun with me. In fact I'm glad you're finally showing a sense of humor! No problem.

But as I clearly stated in the end note it was a completed story. I did write that I might possibly write further books about this family in the future and asked readers to let me know if they would be interested in reading them and if so to let me know.

I did submit the story to SOL today - I like to put my stories up on both sites at approximately the same time.

I am hoping you'll enter the story in the LITEROTICA contest (I should point out that so far not one TOP 20 MOST FAVORITE authors on the site have submitted one) but if you want to continue to play 'I'm the Queen' and you're not interested in having it in the contest so be it. In that case please enter it as a normal story submission and put it in the regular queue. It's up to you.

FYI Gabby has told me that in either case it has been accepted into the A.I.R. poprtion of the contest.

Burning up the charts, I see

EDIT: Ooo! Even better! This thing is posted over there as 7 different chapters... for a 64k story. About 12-13k words in seven chapters. *laugh*

The way SOL calculates downloads on chapter stories, the number presented on public stats should be about 1.5x - 2x the actual highest number of downloads for any individual chapter, based upon the number of chapters. Stories with more chapters rise steadily in the multiplier.

Someone is trying ( and failing -- miserably ) to avail himself of the vast advantage chaptered stories have on SOL over one shots. ( Far more than the advantage they have here )

I'd tell you what you're doing wrong scouries, but I find it more amusing to sit on the sidelines, eat popcorn, and chuckle. Not so easy to fake greatness on a site that requires a membership login and regularly deletes/consolidates alt accounts, huh?

Yes, I'm pretty sure scouries will let his own story in his Fake contest. Only one problem. If Lit doesn't except it then how will anyone ever vote on it? But that doesn't matter to good old James, he'll proclaim himself the winner like he has in the past.

As for the other Authors that scouries says have entered his contest, exactly how does that work since they can submit to Lit but I don't see anywhere on the site to submit to scouries Fake contest.

All the stories scouries said are entered in his contest are stolen from the Official Contest list or from the New Story board and not entered in anything. Not even the Official Contest.

As for him being the number one anything on this site, it's all in his mind. He has never won, placed or even shown in any monthly, yearly, or special contest ever held on this site. He keeps talking about readers choice, well, it seems like they made their choice and he ain't it.

Just more lies from the biggest liar and fraud on lit.

Type your titles with apostrophes directly into the "title" line. If you cut and paste from a word processor, the formatting quite often conflicts with display code and outputs HTML special characters in many locations on the site.

And the above is why I’ve never put darkboy on ignore.

db has two things going for him as far as I’m concerned. One, he amuses me. Makes me chuckle from time to time. Which in AHland is saying something. Those graphs!!!!

And then second, every once in a while he gives me some useful information. Like this don’t cut and paste apostrophe’s thing. Mind you who else would know more than he about c-and-p?

We’ve definitely got to get MANU at work on this problem.

db also helped me once years ago on the whole picture thing. We were so impressed we even offered him a position here at ScouriesWorld. Unfortunately he doesn’t like bright lights so South Beach was out of the question for him.

Of course I’m never totally sure if the advice he’s giving me is 100% accurate. He once led me astray with some weird instructions on how to copy an Internet page. Didn’t work at all!

So I don’t think I’ll try to edit the title of my A.I.R. Summer Lovin Contest entry just yet in case he’s trying to fool me again. I’ll wait until after the contest.

My guess is that you're most likely still 4-500 short of making the list, had you posted a 12,000 word story as a single submission, instead of in 7 chapters. What's the maximum download number for any single one of those "chapters" that would be about a half Lit page long?

Why do I feel fully justified in needling you? Because you spend your every moment on this site attempting to cause pain, and the unfortunate fact is that you've succeeded in far too many cases.

Too many good authors, authors with potential, newbies who never hung around long enough to discover their potential, and people who genuinely helped those around them are gone as a direct result of you and your ilk.

As an innocent girlie, can someone explain to me how a 7-chaptered story is eligible for a Lit contest?

Scouries, posting a multi-chapter story and boasting you'll write more about the same family, undermines any faint credibililty you ever had in your limp attacks on contest entries. I trust you'll disqualify yourself from your fictional contest.

It was a blatant and transparent attempt to attack the contest system ( and me ) and nothing more.

First, he puts Bk 1 in the title, automatically throwing up a red flag to get rejected.

Then, he puts in a closing note saying that the story is going to continue, throwing up another red flag to get rejected on a speed read.

Then he comes here and complains when he gets rejected, claiming special treatment for the site's "lackeys"

A resubmit, pointing out that those red flags were incorrectly evaluated then results in the story being posted. It happens all the time. He will certainly present it as "the Queen" bowing to the pressure of exposing her "bias"

Chapters within a single submission aren't disallowed. He's within the contest restrictions.

Stories that continue characters or plan to continue characters aren't disallowed. He's within the contest restrictions.

I looked at the last few lines, and there's sufficient closure in my opinion to qualify as a full story. It hints at things to come, but would move in a completely different direction, which the closing note further reinforces.

So, I will defend the story's right to be in the contest. It meets the standards of the contest with respect to the chapter rule. I do so not because he deserves any consideration, but because I'm something he doesn't even comprehend.

Honest.

Which he'll of course prove by quoting tiny bits of this out of context for years to come.

Of course, including it in his own fake contest is another matter, and sure to be a major eye-roller when he wins yet another fraudulent air-head award.

I’ve got to admit I have no idea what you’re moaning on about above. Just about every story I submit here or on SOL or on other sites has chapters. The six stories I’m working on now have chapters.

And what’s this about “had I posted my 12,000 word story as a single submission”?

I enter all my stories as one submission. Do you think the #1 Author, a winner of the MANU Award, member of the 1000 vote and 100 comment clubs, is sitting around all day submitting chapters of stories? Who are you trying to fool now mr honest? miss hick? The dumb Texan? miss odious? Ace?

(I was tempted to open miss o's post just to see what she made of your post - I'm sure the poor dear interpreted it in a way even you didn't foresee - but I resisted the temptation)

For those interested in honest numbers I just copied the following from SOL. It shows that after 36 hours my story is the #2 most downloaded story on the site. The only story above mine is a serial dating from back in 2008 by the big boss man over there.

You know as well as I do that the download count displayed in public on chapter stories is inflated, above the maximum number of people who have opened any single chapter of the story.

You should also know that you can submit stories of any length to SOL now, and the text will automatically be paginated -- eliminating the need to manually divide up stories into chapters.

There also would have been no need to divide up such a story -- even under the old conditions -- into more than two chapters.

The more chapters you have, the higher the inflation of your download count.

So, what's your real download count?

BTW, you still haven't caught my latest, which came out a week ago, and doesn't exploit the SOL chapter advantage

Forgive my ignorance but what is SOL? And I have another question, in his other thread Scouries says something about sweeping away the sweeps. SOL is Storiesonline a site similar to Literotica

A sweep is when the site goes through the contest stories and gets rid of all the one bombs that get dropped on stories by the trolls who want another author to win. Or sometimes they are put there by the author himself and their alts (other user names)

The sweep goes across the entire site so you may see your votes fluctuate as well.

Scouries wants the sweeps eliminated because Manu is forever tracking down his army of false IPs and removing the mountains of 5 votes he give his own stories. That's the whole "sweep away the sweeps"

At least it's slightly more honest than his usual battle cry "Transparency!" Where he demands to know what the sweeps are looking for -- In other words, he wants a wiring diagram for the alarm system posted on a billboard in the front yard for the convenience of frauds like him.

Thanks for the info, LC and Dark. Yeah, it's hard to him seriously. Especially after his suggestion that Sci-Fi should be disallowed to participate in contests. Elfin did a fine job of tearing his arguments into shreds. No wonder she made his ignore list.

It really does seem like all his 'helpful suggestions' are designed to give him a leg up in winning. A cheesy fairly transparent attempt at manipulating the system. Does he think people are so stupid as to not realize this?

Hell, he expects us to believe that he's paid royalties by the site ( that continually cheats him... What?! *laugh* ), produces blockbuster movies of his hit stories, and has writer's seminars costing thousands of dollars, which are attended by hundreds several times a year.

Not to mention he expects us to believe he's from Florida when he spells z words with s's, o words with ou's, and constantly uses phrases like "going on holiday"

His egomaniac delusion knows no bounds. He thinks he's the greatest writer in the world, so we should believe every impossible hunk of flotsam he floats our way, because he's "just that good".

The level of suspension of disbelief required for his stories and here is pretty much equal, and his characters are just as flat and transparent, so at least he's consistent. If you've read a scouries post, you've read a scouries story.
