I noticed three threads today complaining about the voting and comments button not working (one in SF and two in AHland). There may be more in other forums.

And yet once again we get only silence from the PALACE!

It’s been a long term complaint of mine of course. This unwillingness on Prince MANU’S part to share what’s going on.

…well sometimes…

Every change he initiates has to be a surprise. Never any discussion or explanation of what changes he’s contemplating or planning. No asking of what we think of them. No desire for feedback.

Then they’re foisted on us without any explanation and often without any warning.

How difficult would it be for him to simply make a post explaining what’s happening when a case like this one arises? Give us the whys and wherefores. Tell us when the problem is likely to be resolved.

How hard would it be for him to give us a monthly (or quarterly) update on what he’s planning and the time frame involved? On why he’s contemplating these changes. Asking what the users of the site think of both the contemplated changes and which ones we believe are the most important and should be prioritized.

This is a better way! It’s the modern way. And almost invariably it produces better results in a timelier manner. ​

I just wanted to let you all know that we’ll be tabulating quarterly figures for ScouriesWorld over the next week. Sales, vote, views, comment numbers will be shown and compared to previous quarters.

We’ll also update the “FAVORITE” author numbers not only for the boss but for others in the top ten.

Now here's aa strange one: The gabster was checking my "recent activity" for the month of September and came across this on September 3rd:

"Comment was removed by administration"

Somebody removed a comment! But I have no idea what the commeent was or who made it. Or who removed it and why.

They couldn't be talking about the White House administration could they?

Given some of the comments I've seen on the site it's hard for me to even imagine what could have prompted this action.

Hopefully someone in the PALACE will be able to enlighten me.​

Top 20!!!!

Well here they are! The updated list of most “favorited” authors on the site. The figures shown are as of today’s date (Sept 29 2011). Also shown are the number of “favorites” gained by each of the authors over the last 12 months.

Two authors, walterio and bluedragonauhtor were dropped from the top twenty in spite of adding significant numbers to their totals.

They were replaced by the jazzman and by Ahabscribe, two authors who have been flying up the ratings ladder. Unfortunately we don’t have these two’s figures for 12 months ago so cannot give an accurate figure for their yearly gains – only the minimum they must have amassed.

The top three vote getters for the last 12 months are alwayswantedto, james r scouries and Manyfeathers in that order. However it should be noted that the jazzman almost surely was the #1 most favorite vote getter over the last 12 months. And it’s entirely possible that Ahabscribe would also be in the top 3 himself for the year if we had complete figures.

It should be noted that only some fifty odd authors on the site have more total “favorites” than these five have amassed in just one year. It’s a remarkable achievement for all five.

Congratulations gentlemen!

Here are the September 2011 figures for 30 day “recent activity” for [SIZE=+2]ScouriesWorld.

We set a record!

During the month of September four hundred and eighty-five (485) “recent activities” (favoriting the author, favoriting one of his stories, or commenting on one of his stories) were reported to mr scouries.

One hundred and seventy-seven (177) named him their “favorite” author during the month while twelve (12) “unfavorited” him for a net gain of one hundred and sixty-five (165).

Over the last six months (April-September 2011) 548 LITEROTICANS have named him their “favorite” author while 55 have “unfavorited” him (including that two faced babs woman) for a net gain of 493 for the period.

mr scouries hopes that he’ll have at least two new stories ready in October – he’s working like mad! And it’s this kind of response from the LITEROTICA readers that is his true inspiration.

Actually I always liked the Tide in my youth. My granddaddy even took me to a Cotton Bowl game between the Tide and Texas in the early eighties. Jan 1 1982 – I just looked it up. Hard to believe it was almost thirty years ago. I was twelve. Hardly a hair on my balls.

In those days teams could dress just about every student at the school. I can remember counting more than 120 Alabama players. Of course they still had a coach in those days but it didn’t mean much to me.

But it was an unforgettable spectacle. Texas won at the end.

But I must say I haven’t liked the Tide since that carpetbagger skulked out of Miami and left the Dolphins hanging. He just couldn’t handle the pressure and scrutiny of the NFL. He may be a big boy in Tuscaloosa but he ain’t worth a cent in South Florida.

As to the Hurricanes and their future: well friend the HURRICANES future is on display every Friday night on the high school fields of black Miami. And as long as it’s the best hs football in the country I’m not very worried. There may be some down years but there are a lot of up years in their future.
