If I was here only to try and become a popular writer, I would indeed write about completely different things, but I'm just writing for my own fun, and for the (perhaps few) people who share my interests. You didn't win and I didn't win. Even though I'm the most prolific author on the site, bar none (yeah, yeah, quality over quantity bullshit), I rarely even get nominated for anything.

My last harrah was when I was nominated, under BostonFictionWriter, as not only the most influential writer in 2008 but also as the most influential poet, too. No other writer has been nominated in both categories.

Just as in the case of the Red Sox...wait until next year (lol).

That said, I've only read a couple of yours--and when I can separate out who wrote them from the stories, they do read quite fine. I've never voted below a 5 on one (and yes, I've voted some).

But as far as the annual contest nominations, yes, your name has only been brought up by you, Scouries, or an alt of one of you. But then it's a joke of a contest anyway.

My advice to you now as before (and maybe you've taken it) if it's really just the stories you are interested in is to create yet another alt, don't post to the forum under that alt, and only write and post stories to that alt. I do it, and the stories under those alts do extremely well here.
