Why don't you tell us exactly how any of these stories are "Halloween" themed?

Just makes a grown man want to cry!!!

MIAMI -- Florida is out of The Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Not just the Gators -- the entire fucking state!

For the first time since Dec. 6, 1982, no Sunshine State team was among the AP rankings on Sunday, marking the end of 472 straight polls where either Florida, Florida State or Miami -- and usually all three -- were on the list.

Adding to the ignominy of the weekend is this stat: Saturday was just the second instance since Oct. 14, 1978, that Florida, Florida State and Miami lost on the same day. It also happened Oct. 30, 2004.

ace pondering his percentages…

412 out of 499 (82.56%) of your stories were GM according to loverboy.

Your percentage gay for the last few years is probably even higher than the astounding 82.56% once we discount your 2006/7 SURVIVOR throwaways. Take away your contest entries and your contest reviews and you’re probably well over 90% gay during the 2008-11 years.

So are you debating these figures? If so please feel free to correct them.

I checked mine – I’ve written 54 of 68 in INCEST which gives me a percentage of 79.41.

I’ve also checked and believe I’ve written a higher percentage than you in Romance, Mature, Loving Wives, Non-Consent, and Erotic Couplings. Again feel free to correct me if I’ve reported this incorrectly.

I must say it’s pretty amusing watching you try to wiggle out from under these facts.

Wouldn’t it just be easier for you to simply apologize for your many previously posted misstatements about our relative propensity to write outside our main category? I know that apologies are foreign to your nature but sometimes my friend it’s best to simply do it and then move on.

A%20Digging.jpg

ace trying to dig up new numbers…

This habitual digging a deeper hole for yourself that’s your standard modus operandi is a very poor strategy. C'mon, be honest for once!

First, Why do you set yourself up for this self-flagilation? :D

Second, who really gives a shit?

Third, I've never entered the Survivor's contest. And none of my stories can be discounted from my list even if I had.

Fourth, no, none of your other comparisons are right, either. As I've noted before, this is the pen name I write GM under--I have other accounts here with no GM stories. But even in this account, I currently have 503 works posted to Lit., with 85 non-GM works. By the middle of next week, I will have 510 works, with 90 non-gay ones. (I'll leave it to you to do the proper calculations--not that you are able to do anything properly.)

Fifth, I have works in 18 categories as of today (21 as of the middle of next week). You have works in 6 categories. And I have more works in most of my side categories than you have in your side categories.

Sixth. I have Green Es in 6 categories--the only award element here you can't manipulate (well, other than the W that you can't get either, despite trying everything you can think of, including making up your own bogus contest). You have none.

Seventh. I have over 90 published erotica books--not all GM. You have none.

Eighth. If you are going to play the comparison game, you can't just not count any works just because it makes your miserable statistics look better.

Ninth. Percentages mean nothing when you are comparing your 68 works to my (currently) 503 (510 by this time next week). Especially when you consider that you have been posting stories here 14 months longer than I have. Reality is that I already have 17 more non-GM stories posted to Lit. than you do. (25 percent more, since you are fond of percentages.)

Tenth. Who gives a shit anyway? You aren't even in the same publishing league as I am.

And, last, why aren't you entering the Halloween contest? Coward. :D

And wouldn't it be interesting if we worked up the comparative wordage averages for works posted to Lit.? ;)

Exactly. People write in the categories they like to write in. If someone doesn't like the categories someone else writes is, fuck them. There is no such thing as a non-legitimate category here. Despite what scouries says.

I’m not sure what “comparative word averages” has to do with how many stories each of us post outside our main category (which is the subject here) but if you’d like to do it go right ahead. For my part most of my stories used to come in at about 3 LIT pages (10,500 words) but recently I’ve found my latest stories stretching into a 4th page (and even a 5th page). My guess (and that’s all it is) is that my average story length on the stories I have up on LITEROTICA is about 11,500 words.

As to the A.I.R. HALLOWEEN CONTEST: My intention was to enter two stories in the contest (I do have a contractual obligation to enter at least one) and with god’s help will manage it. However, as you well know, james r scouries will not enter any of his stories, no matter the short term rewards, until he is satisfied that it meets the exacting quality standards that are the bedrock of his oeuvre.

”Percentages mean nothing” – Perhaps your dumbest statement given the subject and your previous, often repeated charges. ace, you write 83+% of your stories in one category! And that includes all your throwaway non GAY stories. There’s only one graph maker in the whole wide world (darkboy) who could plot your category percentages and prove your thesis about percentages meaning nothing.

The bottom line is that now, and has always been, that james r scouries writes a larger percentage of his stories outside his main category than you, sr71plt, do!

I wonder why this matters. Does writing outside your main category make you a better writer?

You my dear vioan have hit the nail squarely on the head!!!!

Perhaps you being a European, allows you to see things your less sophisticated American cousins can’t.

FYI – for years I, james r scouries, have been regularly lashed in posts by the denizens of AHland, for being only a “one category” writer as they’ve repeatedly and condescendingly put it.

This gang of aged middle American housewives and retired old timers has been led through all these attacks by none other than the one we call ace. So you can imagine my surprise when the author known as loverboy did a detailed statistical analysis of this ace’s works and found that he is the true “one category” author!

For my part I believe it’s not the category you write in, instead what’s important is the story itself. Good stories, no matter the category, always rise to the top.

And no, this belief isn’t in conflict with my belief that LITEROTICA should ban Sci-Fi, Non-Erotic and Non-Human stories. I have nothing against the stories themselves. It’s just that I believe this isn’t the site for them.

They’d be much better off on a site devoted to Science Fiction and/or Fantasy (and I believe there are many such sites available).

BTW – do you like these Canadian hockey girls as much as I do? I just happened on these pics today. Never seen them before. I'd love to pass the fuck with these northern beauties…

(FYI fuck is a canadian hockey term)

I think the point is that you are not only a one category author (which obviously bothers you in view of your recent rant trying to establish otherwise :D) but that you are a one story writer--and don't seem to have gotten that down too well yet. ;)

And that you spend a hell of a lot of time trying to bring all of the other writers down to your level. (Come to think of it, that sounds like at least one other guy around here.)

Sorry, scouries, but I think you're not completely telling the truth now. You have been trying to convince me to write stories about humans, not to post them on another website instead. This shows that you actually dislike the stories or the categories; you directly attempted to make a NonHuman writer abandon their category with no regard to the stories' quality or the author's preference.

Also, I think you meant "Belgian writer".

I’m sorry my dear vi but you’ll have to go. We at ScouriesWorld were pretty suspicious of you from your first post. The whole fake name thing, the Belgium angle and the newby Non Human poster shtick all raised red flags around here.

But I, being such a good guy, decided to give you the benefit of the doubt anyway. Just in case, against all odds, you were a new author to the site and not another of these ALT puppets these foul AHers keep pulling out of their hats.

But I’m sorry miss fake alt you’re not being able to recognize the greatest Belgium writer of all time was the final straw. You fell into my trap! Off to the ignore list for you. Don’t worry, you won’t be lonely there, it’s already filled with many of your brother and sister alts.

FYI: Georges Joseph Christian Simenon 13 February 1903 – 4 September 1989) was a Belgium writer. A prolific author who published nearly 200 novels and numerous short works, Simenon is best known for the creation of the fictional detective Maigret.

simenon.jpg

Simenon was one of the most prolific writers of the twentieth century, capable of writing 60 to 80 pages per day. His oeuvre includes nearly 200 novels, over 150 novellas, several autobiographical works, numerous articles, and scores of pulp novels written under more than two dozen pseudonyms. Altogether, about 550 million copies of his works have been printed.

He is best known, however, for his 75 novels and 28 short stories featuring Commissaire Maigret. The first novel in the series, Pietr-le-Letton, appeared in 1931; the last one, Maigret et M. Charles, was published in 1972. The Maigret novels were translated into all major languages and several of them were turned into films and radio plays. Two television series (1960-63 and 1992-93) have been made in Great Britain, and one in France (1991–2005) staring Bruno Cremer.

During his "American" period, Simenon reached the height of his creative powers, and several novels of those years were inspired by the context in which they were written (Trois chambres à Manhattan (1946), Maigret à New York (1947), Maigret se fâche (1947)).

Simenon also wrote a large number of "psychological novels", such as The Strangers in the House (1940), La neige était sale (1948), or Le fils (1957), as well as several autobiographical works, in particular Je me souviens (1945), Pedigree (1948), Mémoires intimes (1981).

In 1966, Simenon was given A.I.R.'s highest honor, the MANU Award.

FYI – for years I, james r scouries, have been regularly lashed in posts by the denizens of AHland, for being only a “one category” writer as they’ve repeatedly and condescendingly put it.

They only do it because you're such a pompous windbag, asshole. If it were anyone else I seriously doubt anyone would care about how many categories someone writes in. They do it to you because they hate you and they have every reason to.

And no, this belief isn’t in conflict with my belief that LITEROTICA should ban Sci-Fi, Non-Erotic and Non-Human stories. I have nothing against the stories themselves. It’s just that I believe this isn’t the site for them.

Who the fuck cares what you think? Other than yourself I mean. Do you run this site? No. Do you have any right to try to dictate what categories are acceptable and which ones are not? No. Does ANYONE besides yourself agree with you? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT! So why the fuck is your opinion so much more important than that of everyone else?

You're a complete and utter douche canoe and I suspect that the only reason you haven't been banned yet is because Laurel and Manu find your stupidity to be amusing.

On the whole 'one trick pony thing' does it really matter?

No one gets paid here (except scouries of course:rolleyes:) the site is free, and people are writing for either fun or to get better.

For those writing for fun, if you latch onto to one particular category because either you have a knack for it, or it is your fetish so what?

There's nothing wrong with writing in one category, unless of course you claimnot to be a one trick pony, but really are.

People can say it is challenging to try to write in a category that is not 'yours' and I guess they could be right, but why do I, or anyone, need to be 'challenged'

Someone recently asked me to write a story involving watersports. I declined, its just not my thing, they cam back and said "are you saying you can't?"

What is that? I double dog dare you? Yeah okay.

Going to work everyday can be challenging, raising your kids, and dealing with real life is challenging, why should we be 'challenged' in what we do for fun.

On this subject of versatility and to settle down the warring egos everyone click this link and hearken to your master

Many Feathers. More H's than I have ever seen and in every category. 15 "w's" in 9 different categories and even a precious(to some) E to boot.

Best writer on the site and classy enough to never, and I mean never, toot his own horn unlike many others.

This man is the standard by which to judge if you would like to challenge yourself. Great guy as well.

I would think the lesson here is that those in glass (and/or flimsy) houses shouldn't throw bricks at the houses of others.

Do your own thing and don't obsess over what anyone else has, is, was, or does.

This is a forum for discussing and letting others know what you're doing. And if you're not doing much, that isn't really a reason or invitation to throw bricks at those who are doing.

Wow... I'm being told that I'm an alt, now? Just because I didn't comment about your mention of Georges Simenon? I've been accused of many things before, but being accused of not being a Belgian beats most of it. And no, I'm not an alt. But whatever... You can probably not read this anyway.

Cover yourself, scabbies. Your stupidity is showing again. :D

Even if he has you on ignore, he can just slip into one of his alts and see your comments.
