What happened to the Miami Dolphins?

I thought Miami had a football team.

Oh, wait, there they are in last place with a zero wins and five loss record. I didn't scroll down far enough. I guess I had to scrolllllll all the way to the bottom of the football standings to see them.

That's okay, there's always next year.

If it's any consolation, Scouries, they do have wicked hot cheerleaders. Maybe they should enlist some of them to play football. They might do better than their team.

Only, I think the quarterback count will be longer and the count will be harder having a cheerleader playing center.

All I can say is it's a good thing that Miami doesn't have a baseball team.

I grew up as an American League fan - a diehard Cleveland Indians fan through good seasons and bad. It was ingrained into me since birth. I've never rooted for a National League team in the World Series.

However, since I've lived in MO for the last 17+ years and I believe I'll have to give in to my ban on National League versus American League and root for the Cards.

We’re building a new ballpark in Miami… and my money is helping to build it. LITEROTICA royalties helping to build a ball park! Imagine! Why the people of Miami have to give hundreds of millions of dollars to a billionaire art dealer (read crook) is beyond me!

This is on top of helping to pay (both state and county largesse) for TWO arenas to replace the old Miami Arena – one for basketball and one for hockey. The men that benefited from those handouts were a billionaire Cruise Ship operator (Micky Aronson) and a billionaire garbage man (Wayne H)). Wayne also benefitted when our football stadium was refurbished.

I have just about given up on pro sports – I’d much rather watch the Canes play football or even go down on a Friday night and watch some high school ball.

Basketball, even with the big three, is horrible.

Baseball? Years ago we had Baltimore in Miami, the Yankees in Ft Lauderdale, the Expos and Braves in Palm Beach, the Mets just up the road from there and finally the Dodgers in Vero Beach for spring training. Small intimate ballparks. Back fields where you could watch the players practicing (and talk to them). A week in March going up the coast and watching twelve different teams play in six different stadiums was just about as good as it gets. Then you could switch to the west coast of Florida and see the Red Sox, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and end up in Winter Haven watching Cleveland.

Then we lost the Yankees and Braves to Orlando. The Expos died. Baltimore just keeps moving around. The Dodgers left one of the most beautiful ballparks ever made (Dodgertown) to go practice out in the fucking desert. Cleveland followed.

I was left to watch pro baseball in one of the worst stadiums in the world (Joe Robbie etc., etc). With a team that had the worst owner in baseball. I said fuck it!

Now I go out to the University and watch the Canes playing at a lovely campus ballpark (renovated thanks to a generous donation from A- Rod). Not much better than that...

They continually whine about comments they don’t like and votes they consider too low. Of course any vote under a perfect 5 is too low for most of our AHers. In fact many of them claim they’ve never voted a story lower than 4 or 5! Imagine that! They read hundreds of stories and every single one is either “one of the best” or “very good”.
