Why do you think I said "Playing"?
Also, another bit of praise for The Vassal Academy. It had been on something of a hiatus, but recently has come back. It's gone on a very long time, with multiple writers. Some of the names have changed, but it gives me hope in the ideas of sustaining long-term group threads. It's definitely worth a good read-through even from the beginning, if you ever have the time.
A suggestion from a friend brought this writer to my attention. Of which I am appalled it's taken me so long to read something of his. She adds the name to her list of "Writers to Stalk"
Shackled by Fish_tales and Eklectik Chik
Very fast paced story. I started reading Sunday afternoon and I swear I could not put my laptop down. I definitely like the dynamics brought to the table, the depths of the characters, their background, the action... The diversity in the NPCs character development, the undercurrent of a back story in the presence of the here and now, the way both writers are able to hand off NPCs so fluidly and not miss a beat. The opening is eye catching, the plot is solid, and the delivery amazing. Action packed and charged with tension. I can't wait for the next post.
Skeletons & Closets by Fish_tales and Dark Empress.
Alright. I'm biased. I already love Dark Empress, so it wasn't hard to make me like this story by this dynamic duo. 5 posts in and I'm at the edge of my seat. (though truth to be told, I was there from post 1, I haven't left the edge of my seat.) They hit the ground running with the suspense and I am dying to find out how this story is going to play out. Where the hell is the next god damn post?!

In total and utter agreement! Love "Skeletons..." to bits, it's an awesome thread with two fantastically talented writers!
Um - I should say thanks, but then it looks like I'm soliciting
Give Me Wings To Fly ~ DarkWarrioress & Fish_Tales
This charming antipodean has been mentioned here a few times, and with extremely good reason and his writing partner is no less gifted, far from it.
Put these two together = awesome thread!
Spotted this thread this morning and couldn't stop reading it. Don't want to give too much away but this looks like an amazing love story in the making.
Anyone with some time to spare time should read this thread!

awwww - shucks!
Blame Cait - SHE thought of the story idea.....
Across the Sands ~ Light Ice & DarkWarrioress
Both amazing writers. I've always been a fan of Light Ice. He writes terribly, terribly well. So much that it often scares me to read his work. So enchanting are his words. So captivating, that it hurts when those words cease.
DarkWarrioress is a beautiful embodiment of the feminine. The strong woman, the sensual woman, and a wonderful contrast to Light Ice's masculine.
The pair complement each other, her softer, gentler words to his harsher ones. Together they make this story tense, tense with the sexual charge that has always been the hallmark of their work. I so love this setting, this world that they've created. I dearly hope this story fills out...
After 4 nights of very little sleep, trying to keep up with these two writers writing at break neck speed... I've finally caught up to the last post of A Solitary Life ~ Dryfter & Nyte_mare/RainingHeat.
The story here is of a woman seeking her vengeance from the lycans that have slaughtered her family, and the trueblood that aids her quest. It's winding twists and turns carries the pain of loss, the burn of betrayal, the sweetness of passion, the character depth and so much more. Together Dryfter and Nyte_mare carry this story well into the realm of fantasy, the world of gods and faeries, demons and of course lycans. This thread is absolutely story focused, riveting, violent, sex charged... and this pair has done a wonderful job at delivering such a coherently developed story.
Dryfter is, one of the few I've found, to have so beautifully captured the lycan heart. Their fierce loyalties, their violent nature, their heat of passion, their pride... Together with Nyte_mare the pair leave pebbles of hints in their moon lit story of what will come. They pass details, hints, characters, foreshadowing, from one to another in a seamless weave. Together they create more than just the two characters, but the clans, the mates, the history and the precarious web that ties their fates together.
Few threads here on Lit survive the demands of the real world, and even fewer take off with a story to captivate. For one who has a fascination for the wolf, this has been a very good read.
I don't read a lot of other threads. I don't know why, but generally if I'm reading another thread it's because I'm scouting out someone to write with, not just sitting back to read it for pleasure. Every once in a while, though, I come across a thread that I have to read, because I'm hooked from the first post. Once that happens, I have to know where it goes. This is one of those threads.
The title drew me in right away, of course, but I mostly just need to know where it's going to go. It's sort of like a show like Homeland, I think. You can see the initial premise, but once that's been played out, where does it go from there? So many possibilities, but they can only choose one. I, for one, will be hanging on every post to find out which way these two decide to go.
So what's your favorite part of that thread?
Probably his past-time (pasttime? past time? Firefox hates the word, it seems) being given proper noun status.
For the record, it's pastime.
Pastime?
Well damn. Cookie with your name on it for you!
