Thread and writer appreciation thread

I just want to say, and have wanted to say for a while, that Fauxy's Bastet in Housecat with fr33ks33k is SUCH a fun read! I've never read single-minded 'cattitude' so well personified - the character makes me miss living with a cat (and reminds me exactly why my husband won't live with a cat)!

Love that thread, it makes me laugh, and has drawn me in, irresistably - I have to keep reading, to see who's going to win out in the battle of wills! :rose: Good luck, Zack! Every cat thinks it's a deity.. :D

Aw, thanks! :D
Bassie is very fun... And its even more fun to be a pain in the ass to Freekles!

Thanks, Alice. Glad you're enjoying it as much as we are.

Better watch it Foxy...*smirks*

Okay, now that I finally have gotten around to catching up with my rampant threadstalking, I'll put (not near all, but the ones that I've been keeping up with most) some of my raves here:

Reckless Endangerment with saysalice and ezwriter. Holy fuck, that thread is mindblowing and so nicely structured. Every time I thought, "no way!" I was dead wrong. Really well done.

The Bull with Britwitch and marauder13. You two write incredibly well together, and the story flows so easily. Of course, it's devilishly hot, so that doesn't hurt--but Brit especially won me over with Bridget's smiling. Awesome!

Paper Doll with Miss_Vivi and Scuttle Buttin'. The premise of this thread is great and I'm looking forward to seeing where the two of them take it. Plus, Inika and Adin hugging--d'awww! Sorry. But seriously, I love this thread and the idea of "Dolls" is fascinating.

Innocence And The Facets Of Demons with Miss_Vivi and Vail_Indigo. Poor January! Ladies, Vail said you were going to have fun torturing that girl and what a mindfuck so far. Please, PLEASE keep writing that thread. I have to know what happens!

There are lots more, but I think I should rein myself in for now. Keep it up, all of you! I'll just be here, stalking you.

I'm seriously flattered that I ended up here twice! Seriously. Thank you darling.

I know that Vail said she didn't know where to go with January next and the answer, my darling, is simple. We need to love her. So that we can take her pain deeper. She needs to breathe, to accept that we love her, so that I can break her.

Thank you, Tess, for your kind words about "The Bull". I have enjoyed this thread with Brit, as well as every other one I have done with her. She manages to give me plenty to work with, and her Ladies are a delight to be with, regardless of how my fellows treat them.

This thread deserves a good bump.

One of the most enjoyable reads I've had lately has been Kingdom Besieged, with DarkWarrioress and dryfter. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't something of a Cait fanboy to begin with because she's always an excellent writer. This is a really good story, though. I'm enjoying the plot development.

It's a bit darker, and there's some elements of basically mind control in it as well-not always my thing. But frankly, in addition to being well written, it's also pretty fucking hot. These two write very well together, and apparently have worked out quite well how to handle much of the plotting, from how the story reads-every post manages to keep the story moving forward, even as they both handle multiple characters and events happening in different places.

I'm sorry I missed this, Tess, and I've been meaning to thank you. Coming from you, and as Brit said, to be included with such company is a tremendous compliment!

I really do love that story, and ez is an inspiring, challenging, talented (and twisted) co-writer who always keeps me on my toes! It's sincerely flattering to know you're reading along. Thank you!!

Wow. *blush*

Thank you, Noon.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story. This storyline is dear to my heart. It's one of dryfter's ideas and he felt it was a selfish thing. I disagreed. He had tried to start it before with someone else, but it wasn't going exactly how he imagined it. I wanted to give him that. So, when I learned his old storyline fell apart, I kinda enticed him into giving me a shot at it.

I'm very pleased to hear you're enjoying yourself reading the thread, Noon_Shadow. More so that you chose to voice your praise. Thank you so much. :)

Just using this thread for its intended purpose, my friends. When I find myself peeking down at the SRP threads and getting excited because I see that one particular thread has new posts in it, it's probably time that I offer some kudos.

I like that there's an ongoing adventure which is fairly compelling, and justifies a lot of the sex taking place. I also really like that Cait has found a way to write her two primary characters to be quite distinctive. I'm looking forward to seeing what challenges lay ahead for them, also.

Stories that Stand Out

I just discovered this thread today. Mostly due to being bored and figuring that I may as well skim the "Stickies" -- something I don't do very often. ;)

YAY :cathappy: I'm really glad to have stumbled over this one. My reading list has tripled in less than 30min. Thanks ya'll. It's a good thing I read FAST. :D

I've read several different story threads for various reasons. Initially, I read them because the title would catch my eye. Then I would skim them because I was looking to see how they wrote. Having been gone from Lit for so many years, figuring my way around the forum was a bit like walking in a maze partially blind. A few stories I've found because I asked the writer what stories they liked writing the best. Via those recommendations, I found a treasure trove of cool writers.

Here are some of the stories that have stood out to me for one reason or another and I enjoy reading. Although I have not read all of them completely yet. It's terribly but a part of me hates waiting for that next post. I kinda want it now now now when I reaaaaaaally like a story. So I wait for a while and then gobble up whatever is there.

Outlaws to the End by HotCider & heartofcourage ~ A story about a woman who thought she had found love and a path to a good life of being a wife to a well to do man. Instead, she finds herself caught in a prison of dank walls and a man's freakish need to control and dominate. What happens? There's a hold up at her bank, a robber takes all of her savings and, in a reckless fury, the woman goes after him.

That's the start of their story. :)

Bunhead and the Bad Boy
by ArcticAvenue & SweetAsSuga ~ Admittedly when I saw the title, all I could think of and hear is Avril Lavigne's Sk8ter Boi song. It kinda fits! The story is about a ballerina and a skater boy and the unlikely mix of their two vastly different worlds.

Shackled by Fish Tales & EklectikChik ~ Recommended by Fish to read and boy am I glad he did! Fish and Eklectik do a great job with this story! I love the way they weave the story together. I'm almost finished but I kinda don't want to because then it's over.

I ran into Solomon's Church because it popped up in the Lounge one day. There's a photo of a place I love that is used as part of the lower levels. Then I continued onwards to read a scene between Scuttle Buttin' & Miss Vivi. It was hot! I really enjoyed reading that sequence. I know this isn't a "story" thread but that is how I came to learn about the gang of writers at Solomon's. Very cool!

Which lead to conversations and the recommendation to read Welcome to Etham, Alabama by Scuttle Buttin', Vail Indigo, Miss Vivi, Faux Pas, BritWitch, LeChatNoir and theStruggle. It's a dark tale about a charismatic preacher man who has the charm, wily tongue and commanding presence to lure a woman, wind a woman up and twist her to his meanest desires. He comes and settles in a small town of Etham with his wife Bethany. The town has no idea what they're in for.

My fav characters are Levi and Bethany King but of those two, I really love the way thestruggle writes Bethany. I can feel exactly how she feels, follow the twists of her fears and unvoiced desire for freedom. Good stuff!

Abuse by Light Ice ~ A short story that's vivid in it's sparse darkness and violent in ways that maybe more than one person has dreamed of in their minds but have not acted in life. Stark. Driven. Two good words for the short story.

House of Moonlight and Shadows by LitShark & littlewaif ~ In the house of Moonlight and Shadows, the Lady rules from her captive boudoir. Lovers come to visit betwist time and space to fall into the Lady's arms and fill her with passion as she fills herself with their love.

A beautifully written story that is oh so easy to read, imagine and fall into. If you don't end up loving Girlthing and cheering for her, well... what kind of monster are you? ;)

Teaching Emily by lonelycollegegirl & marauder13 ~ A tale of two best friends who end up becoming more than that. Let me say that I really adore this story. It's totally cheesy and sometimes I want to strangle Emily but I really love the way the two characters interact. It hits the "Aw" button in me. Cheesy romance! Rawr!

I'll join the cheering squad for marauder13. I've read a few of the stories he's written and I really like the way he brings his characters to life in various fashions. Be it with actions, thoughts or a clear statements of "This is who I am. Deal with it."

Oh, okay. That's it for now. =D I'm sure I'll find more as I read my epic Lit Read Pile. *grins & winks*

EDITED TO ADD: I can't believe I forgot this one! Phew!

Last but not least, the Adventures of Sidney and Calvin by StoryTime87 & KattDclaw ~ A spinoff from Quinn's Group RP, this is a tale about two not so normal gamers who enjoy being the best of the best. Which one of the two will win in an all out war? Read to find out! Or maybe it'll become a bedroom war... bathroom? Against arcade? Wall? Mystery!

Thank you, Vailyn.

Shackled isn't over. EC is a wonderfully patient and skillfull writer, but she has to put up with my ridiculously slow writing.

I'll be back.

Saturation just started but it's gonna be AWESOME!!! I may be a little too excited because I was given inside scoops but that just makes the final output even more amazing-sauce!

KattDclaw and ArcticAvenue are writing a story about world where genetic alterations has become a popular past time. It's not entirely legal or illegal and the effects are not known. The new blend of human-animal people are called G.E.H., G or the more commonly used, Furry.

It's an adventure story with angst and action. I highly recommend it.

Well you should get some credit, alright...a shit ton of credit. Without Vail it wouldn't have been what it is. At least from my side.

Nah! The creative juices & hard work is all from you two. I just get to enjoy the final reckonings. :D

It's gonna be great! Lookin' forward to reading what else is coming up.:heart:

I've been enjoying Shy Housemates written by STFornicate and prettyserpentine. Haven't read the last couple of pages yet, but pages 1-3 were really good. :)

I second that. The thread is sexy as hell and the characters come to life with their foibles, quirks and eccentricities. I love that thread. :)

Thank you very much! Both of you. I am lucky enough to have a very inspiring co-writer!
