Tihmmnmmish's Very Laid-Back Summery Poolside Threadcast

I'd guess that the answer is always cufflinks and you always end with one of the various numbers for cufflinks.

hm, got boardgame... which is funny

then it's a mystery like the shroud of turin. I'll gift to you said shroud, and you may shroud your loin and tree crotch.

Wait I got a better explanation.

Every time you click on the site it mixes the gifts, keeps the same set of numbers, so when you tell your friends and they go, there's a new click and it randomizes the gifts for the set of numbers, but its already decided what you'll get regardless of what number you pick.

When I was a kid that one magician, David Copperballs, did a trick with a clock on the TV. Everyone at home ended with the same number no matter what number they started with.

Got this answer from Twitter
Each time you do it, all the possible answers to the sum have the same gift on the grid.
But being dense how does it know what the sum is?

Hmmnmm, I actually found the original four categories to base the physics for the world. I think you're the only one who'll know what I'm talking about, so don't tell the other misfits. Could you help me sequence them better and suggest additional endings for each category?

well bflag, as a lifelong misfit practitioner, and suspending the suspicion that you're really making fun of me, your presentation is certainly something I'd revel in. But I hope you're not in a big hurry because,

I'm still in a dreamland shock from the unexpected correspondence that came yesterday. It's also another cherry day out there and I really should be out in it and not here. A few other things... but your project is definitely in the upper levels of interest.

So... lemme grab the camera (finally got some film), mosey around out there... your quite cool idea shall marinate.

Don't know if I am allowed to put this on here but I sure would like to know how it's done!
How does this work??!!

Yes, basically. The answer is always a multiple of 9:

a = 10*n + m - n - m,

where n and m are integers between 0 and 9 (i.e., a digit).
The first page always seems to start with 25 - 2 - 5 = 18,
so there n = 2 and m = 5.

We can continue our algebraic manipulations:

a = 10*n -n = 9*n

Each multiple of 9 box is filled in with the same item, the other boxes don't matter. The only thing I don't know is how the boxes are filled for each cycle - is it a random number or a simple loop over names.

Well of course why didnt't I think of that? It must have been lingering at the edge of mind .............not plus I have just come home from eating out with friends and am reeling from what were termed as 3 small glasses of wine the glasses were huuuuuuuuge. The Baileys and icecream for dessert didn't help either .......... hic

bflag, conscious attention on your idea commenced yesterday. Even if it takes too long, and even if the results disappoint, it's a great daily exercise. It's a good something to start the day with, set the paper on the kitchen table, come to it off and on through the day. So if nothing else, I'll thank you for that.

I've been thinking of other vowels, maybe vowels isn't even the term to use cuz that one section has 'er' as it's common thread. I thought 'er' sounds like something giving birth. I could use any type of push in any direction for my beginning. It's still an unformed idea.

Haven't got to the birth/'er' part yet (taking it a section at a time/per day). I'll admit your -lye is a bit of a stumper. Sure you wouldn't prefer -yle? And is your preference more visual or phonetic? Cuz there's -ign and -eim, etc...

Eye rhymes are the devil's work, only phonetic. You ever hear of the sport Hai-lai(or some various spelling)? -lye(lie), I can't remember exactly where I got that from. We lie/Behind/in time. -eim and all that works, but it's already in -ime, 'though the more the merrier.

awright, all clear, glad I asked.

Eye rhymes are the devil's work

got it

Jai-lai?

aye-aye
