Top 5 Lists

Another golden oldie , that there are enough newbies to revive the thread. All someone needs to do is compose a top five sum sum for our reading pleasure.

I’m **nosey if any of those thread posters can think up something. To revive this thread , or Mr.Bogey himself.

Dropped the ball on this and was embarrassed by not thinking thru my board games list.

This weekend's category: Top 5 Actors of All-time

Warning: I'm going to have a heavy bias towards my favorites.

5. Matt Damon - maybe he's not Daniel Day Lewis but he's always entertaining and he's in so many of my favorite movies. Funny, fun and versatile...what's not to love?

4. Javier Bardem - so talented, so versatile, can't think of anything I don't love him in.

3. Jack Nicholson - no explanation needed. Could easily be #1.

2. Paul Newman - so many great movies over so many decades. He was a force almost til the day he died.

1. Christian Bale - amazing ability and depth as an actor. I know he gets much love but I still feel.hes underrated.

Honorable Mention to Morgan Freeman and Phillip Seymour Hoffman(RIP)

Let's hear yours...

Nice! Chuck Prophet is a really underrated musician going all the way back to Green On Red. Temple Beautiful might be my favorite record he’s done. And coincidentally was just listening to Jesus Was A Social Drinker. Cheers.

Hmmm . . . I don't pay much attention to tv or movies, these are gonna be oldies. I'll say.

Jack Nicholson

I saw Chuck years ago, 15 or more, when he opened for somebody I went to see. Maybe Todd Snider? I liked him a lot and bought a CD at the merch table.

Father John Misty who you frequently quote seems have been coming up often too. I'm Writing A Novel is a catchy tune. It reminds me of the Beatles tune Paperback Writer. I wonder if that's coincidental, or inspirational.

Cheers

Just a observation, but when a thread goes organic and any top 5 of anything happens. A thread has the possibility to evolve and not need tending to. It also stays afloat in the river of new posts when someone is fishing for something to read or post in.

Just a thought

I didn't grasp the thread theme. On a very quick scan, I saw posts about both games and actors. I thought it just post top five of anything. There have been a number of similarly different threads like this over the years with slightly different rules.

Your post started a conversation , opened a door to keeping the thread active without it being tended to. That’s really why I bumped it . It’s a fantastic read when people write ✍️ a post. Listing a top five anything has that possibility IMO .

At the beginning of this thread last year , the posters that wrote out their top five was a great read. Their sharing of the reasons , writing like it was a pleasure not a chore or just participating. Your exchange with goose aka the Drunkard was like that. A reader could feel the conversation as genuine.

That sorta stuff opens doors for shy people that seldom post until they see a opening to join in. If that makes sense to you.
