What usually happens with debates is that each candidate prepares talking points and zingers then pivots from the question that's asked to their most closely related talking point. Is it annoying they don't directly or fully answer a question? Of course it's annoying - but EVERY DEBATE has been like this.

At least Harris prepared her talking points, zingers and taunts. She had them down pat! And delivered them almost flawlessly. And her inviting viewers to attend a Trump rally so they can observe for themselves how unhinged he sounds (e.g., talk of Hannibal Lector) and how people leave early was fucking brilliant!

Trump came completely unprepared. He sounded like he didn't spend even 10 minutes prepping. He didn't take Harris seriously and expected he'd be able to just gaslight and bloviate like he did w/ Biden in the last debate and has done during primary debates. But he couldn't get it done w/ Harris. ..She totally fucking steamrolled him. And rather than vowing to do better, he's vowing to NOT debate her again. Anyone who says Trump won knows better but is just being stubborn.

Trump sounded like Bart Simpson delivering his "Treasure Island" book report.

In all fairness to Trump, he can't afford to have any more of video clips of his actual debate statements used against him in political ads and memes.

Plus, it was humiliating for him to be dominated by a woman half his size.

So, forget about more debates and let him bore his cult followers at the merchandise fairs he calls rallies. He needs to raise more funds to pay for legal fees.

Trump is refusing to debate with Harris, refusing to appear on Fox Entertainment, refusing (especially) to be moderated by Bret Baier due to the way Bret lie-checked him.

Bret is the guy who just asked Pete Buttigieg why Tesla, who make electric cars without tailpipes, weren't invited to a White House event on tailpipe emissions. He wondered if it was due to their unionization policy.
