TSCLT 10.0: Confucius say he hates a pussy!

The big stuff is going to be fed off the reel. We'll support the reel with the forks on the Case 340. We've got the heavy rope cable in the conduit already. Once we hitch the cable up to the line we'll pull it through with the Cat back hoe although we have a little Nortrac that should pull it just as well. Just lube it as we feed it.

Have fun Wat. Never give a weasel an even break.

I read news nowadays, and they lack the sensationalist/novelty factor that I crave.
Same old same old, every day: another masks/vaccines repetitive news, another covid protest or lockdown in Europe, another proxy war in the Middle East.

For some strange reason, the following news piqued my interest/ adds a bit of thrill factor. I'm putting it here because, but for the Guardian and uk times, I haven't seen it in mainstream media:

China bans binge-eating videos as part of new law prohibiting food waste

""Ratified by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) on Thursday, the new law prohibits vloggers and social media influencers from creating content in which they eat, or pretend to eat, excessive amounts of food. Anyone who makes such videos now risks a fine up of up to 100,000 yuan ($15,451).

Additionally, the law will allow restaurants to issue fees to diners if they leave large amounts of food uneaten. Vendors can be fined if authorities determine that their advertising encourages customers to order more food than they really need.

The legislation also extends to office and school cafeterias, as well as food delivery apps, setting out guidelines for reducing waste. Supermarkets will be required to bulk-sell produce nearing its expiration date."

Two posts from the Comments section: (I agree with both)
Government fining people from eating too much food, in their opinion of course.
Such is Totalitarian government.
They wouldn’t be doing that if there wasn’t famine in the country. Something bad is happening in China."

Over the last year I've naturally become more interested in understanding China.
Like most people I guess, following the covid clusterfuck & Trump's & Australia's rhetoric about CCP's long-term plans to rule the world.

But my interest comes also from the fact that, whereas other cultures different from mine I Can eventually understand --the Western, African, Middle Eastern and South Asian -- ,
South East Asian culture feels so... alien.

Particularly the Confucianism, the cult of hard work and thriftinness.
And the cult of social 'humblenness' (being self-depreciating on the outside yet self-confident even superior in the inside) and willynness in South China.

And the fact that you can't tell what they really think.--I'm not sure if it's a sign of them thinking their culture is superior, or a defensive mechanism because they, too were and are being discriminated against.

Apparently Northern Chinese have more in common with us the rest of the world, than South Chinese or Chinese minorities from down South.

Other cultural issues I became aware of:
I used to see myself as European, even if seen as the poor unsophisticated relative of North-West Europe.
--------But there are actually two different Europes, which are culturally very different: Western Europe and Eastern Europe.
The schism is religiously driven, imo: Western Europe by England's protestantism and Italy's/Spain's catholic heritage, and Eastern Europe by the Greek-Russian Christian orthodox church. Greece assimilated both European and Middle Eastern ways of being, via it's history with Persia.
----- I became more interested in these cultural differences following my interaction with a few local racists, who were more candid and upfront/honest than the other racists:
"Where are you from?" xxx. "You don't look European."
Me "What do you mean?" "Because you're olive-skinned."
(In their moronic world-view, only very fair-skinned people can see themselves as Europeans.)

See? All this unfair rhetoric about Americans being the most racists people in the world.
But I haven't seen Any such backward colonial mentality in the US or with British immigrants, as one often finds in small-town Australia or NZ towards any person who isn't very fair-skinned as in blonde.

In saying that, I'm not trying to diminish the African-American issue.
From what I've seen on telly there Are pockets of rabid racism in the US which Need to be addressed, just as there are pockets of woke-ism and anti-White sentiment, and problems in the African-American community.

But discussions about racism against Blacks NEED to be more honest.
It is a global issue, not solely a 'White' issue. Chinese and Japanese are rabidly racist against them, Middle Easterners still have TV programs in which they mock Africans.
The same racist who told me off for calling myself "European", was shocked by "how racists Americans are, they shoot Blacks over there".

Home. Gonna graze in. Not sure what yet.

Today was entirely too fucking long for the little bit of shit we got done. Papa (Abuelo) Mexican labo(u)r broker came this afternoon to pay the Guatemalans. Who largely did bupkis all day. One didn't hit a lick at a snake and the other did verra little. The painters worked, as usual, but They aren't nietos of this abuelo. They're own boss keeps them writhing under his bootheel. It's all a game and they all dance the Money Tune.

Gonna try to get some shit done this weekend. One way or another. Got some work tables to build so's the pieces-parts don't get ahead of me. Have all the material, just need to whack 'em together.

Time off from weasels is important.

Still no woods poodle action at the carcass.

Carrion my wayward vultures . . . .

Gotta pick up my new larger air compressor tomorrow. That'll be the big part of the morning errands.

Quiet night in. Good!!!

All work and no play makes Conager a dull boy. Adding some socialization without subtracting some work makes him a tired one.

Yeah, I hate that feeling of trying to stuff 12 pounds of shit into a 5 pound sack. I get to do it enough as it is.

Happy Saturday. Slept in for the smallest of bits. Old Cat was happy. He likes sleeping. A lot.

No hurry in getting moving here today. Get a bit of online shopping in. I may go ahead and buy the brakes and front end bits for the project car, and then again, I may put that off until I get the engine out. I'll still have sanding and painting to do before, so why bother just yet?

I'll bother this coffee instead . . . .

Good morning all.

It's going to shape up to be a hot one today. Mid to upper mid 80's is in the offing.

Doing some on-line myself this AM and then running out early to do some in person shopping. Need to hit the nursery to pick up a few more plants. Get those in the dirt and then do a little reloading.

It's 44 now and headed into the very low 70s. A little chilly this morning.

I have become a fan of 50s and 70s. I used to prefer 60s and 80s, but no more.

Leave the windows open 24/7/365 except for rain, and leave a light blanket on the bed.

And always comfortable biking with full safety gear, too.

Mine is certainly evolving.

It's a gorgeous day outside. I cheated and opened the back door earlier, so it's gotten a tad colder, but it's warming up, and the cats have fur coats.

Found one Hell of a deal on a pile of good parts, but it's 2K miles from here to there. :(

Carrion . . . .

Heard back from the guy with the pile of parts - half the size - that's oodles-n-scads closer.

It's everything I hoped it would be. As Billy Mays would say, "but wait! There's more!"

Wait, he never said anything, he always yelled it.

Anyway, it'd make a Wat so happeh . . . .

Yet another day comes to a close.

Didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I got enough done.

Man, I kicked ass today, more than most Gen Z'ers will get done the rest of this month, and June, too. More than most Litsters will get done the rest of this year.

Went out and saw some folks this morning and visited with them, went to lunch with the landlady, picked up my new air compressor and brought it home and unloaded it and installed it and tested it. Designed and built a killer heavy duty work table in Fred's hay house, Made a high heavy duty shelf for more storage. Put a bunch of stuff away, got some stuff out that will get re-purposed, and did a bit of planning for how best to utilize the space out there. It's getting roomier with another day like today. Oh, and I fed the dogs some leftovers and shot the squirrel they treed.

And I double-checked - went to the well - on that pile of parts, and I was right. I think I know what I'll be doing come Memorial Day.

I'ma sleep goot tonight . . . .

The neighbors came over and we sat out and shot the bull for a while. Pleasant evening all in all.

Happy Sunday!!!

Tough bit is here when the neighbors stop over. They have to make an effort, which means you're almost obliged to be civil to them. I like to (try to) be nice to the old car/street rod crowd because they know something that I may need to know and don't know - yet. This is why we're going to the car show next weekend. The other ones, not so much. Most of their conversations start off with "whuttizzit?" To wit, I heard from my old bodywork buddy back home, so I sent him a pick. He has the make and the year range if not the year - because he's a Car Guy.

Looks like a purdy day, and then rain for the next three days or so. Which should mean, the siding guys will lay out drunk. Feckink000nts.

Gearing up with coffee . . . .

It's a rainy day, which is appropriate because I have been a bit under the weather.

That's about all I got. Even my coffee has gone cold before it could be drunk.

N000k that stuff.

I need to get one of those mug hotplates. I think that it'd be just right for warming the mustache wax, as opposed to using the hair dryer they recommend. The hard stuff works better'n the paste.

There were three deerz wandering through. Antler rats. The horses are spread out all over the lower pasture. They got a pass. It's so rare that anything make an appearance when I'm around, much less close to armaments.

Off to get after today's chores.

tumblr_nhdbhvptIV1rs4xi1o1_1280.jpg

Today's chores are already underway, grass was done again yesterday so the weed eaters were handed out today and the guys are busy with that while I get some shepherd pies ready for lunch and the freezer. The laundry is chugging and the Roomba is annoying the dogs while they try to sleep in the sunny patch. Just need one last cup of coffee and my morning will be complete.

Good Sunday morning! It's a beautiful morning here. The birds are happy judging by their singing.

I don't know, but I've been told, you never slow down you never grow old.

On the other hand, I've also been told a big legged woman ain't got no soul.

I think that if you never slow down, you just drop dead one day. I'm goot widdat.

Got the outside knocked out. Got the larger heavy-duty shelf built and some more heavy shit off'n the floor. Like a back windshield and a front bumper. And those fucking air cleaners which we'll likely never use. I cunt fit a hi-po K&N filter in them, nor do I want to. Besdies, can you say cold air intake???

I knew you could.

Think we're going up the road to town for a Reuben for lunch.

Reuben was purdy damn good.

Its clouding over. We may get rain sooner'n what we wuz promised.

A wee nap may be in order, and then more hay house improvements.

Likely don't get bupkis done on the car, but . . . .
