TSCLT 7.0: Hemis, Harleys, Hooters-n-Harridans

That is an interesting read, but at times has Kantian-Hegelian overtones...

We are always implored to see ourselves as part of something larger,
even when it lacks any sense of homogeneity, it's just "people."

Again, wealth corrupts, destroys a sense of duty, selflessness and truthfulness as
individuals attempt to enrich themselves and not their society.

Throw in the 'intellectualism' and the massive influx of foreigner's. People like to throw around the word, 'unprecedented.' Still nothing new under the Sun.

Coffee isn't new but I still like it.

I found the "intellectualism" path very much similar to the discussion of the abandonment of reason in German intellectualism in favor of "instinct" and emotion (The Ominous Parallels) which led to Nazism and in the expansion of the university system that we witness today and the indoctrination in feelings...

It is a well-thought out piece that really does seem to describe an inevitable outcome.

Which group of cockroaches will be the ones to kick in the doors of this rotting structure?

Red Dawn?

The piece is a bit dated though, it does mention the current Soviet Empire and the danger it faces...

;) ;)

Was the Soviet Empire really an Empire or merely the residue of the Russian Empire it tried to replace? I'm thinking the latter.

Red Dawn did have a prophetic theme, namely the danger came from the Southern border.

That they are but China can no more fight a land war in N. America than we can fight a land war in Asia. And they won't have to if the left has it's way on the "fundamental" transformation of the US. If the left is successful no war will be necessary, we'll hand them world domination on a silver platter.

The only good news about that is that Islam will essentially be wiped from the face of the Earth.

We are proving that we lack the internal political will to fight any war.
That article even discussed that phase of the decay.
It really was well thought-out.

I don't know if it is perfectly correct, but a lot of it rings true based on
things that I have read over the years...

Home/Scrotel13. Different room this time. The bath fan is much quieter.

We got the misplaced wall moved. I got Le(a)d back. He's being punished by "his" wall. My Latinos show up Wednesday. PM shows up tomorrow. His mood promises to be . . . moody.

TURR-uh actually asked us how to put a window balance in. It seems that one had flown to pieces. He was thrilled that he had to ask Wat . . . not!!! Poor TURR-uh. But he sucked it up, and Wat was (almost) nice to him.

Wat, why are you so mean??!?

Speaking of moody, that's what the skies look like right now. I wish they'd either clear up or rain. Indecisive weather is irritating. Hell, indecisive is irritating.

I have come into possession of a lost dog. Nobodies happy about this, me, the cats, or the dog. He wants to go home and nothing would please me more than to see him reunited with his family. Trying to resolve this without calling animal control.

He's a Boston Bull Terrier, which are generally happy go lucky critters, this one not so much so.

Hope he didn't get dumped.

I think that's the most gutless and chickenshit thing someone can do to a pet. If you hate them so much, shake loose the cash and have them put down. It ain't great, but it's Merciful (I reckon). Tossing them out of the car somewhere they don't know where they are is very unkind.

Like, brings out the worst in Wat unkind.

Cocksuckers . . . .

He'll be adoptable in the worst case. Obviously was an inside dog for the most part. I'm just going to try to return him without the owners having to pay the county - if possible.

Good luck on finding out where he belongs.

One of my online friends in Wales has cats show up at her house. Some of them have houses but check her out to see if she serves better grub. Sometimes, they stay for a few days and she'll take to them to the vet and find out they have chips. But she has scored a couple of cats which she now shares with the neighbors, too. Apparently, it's a communal effort.

She lost both of her Gordon setters a few years ago, and I think that she thinks that cats are easier.

I think that the Old Girl is a soft touch . . . .

Yeah, there's a vet down the street that'll check to see if he has a chip. That's on the 'to do' list tomorrow.
