Twenty Somethings

My semester ended last week. I'm good for the summer. Summer I'll be working and catching up on my video games as well as get back into playing board games, card games, etc.

I can't wait until I see the endings of all my video games that I haven't played in a long time, or finished yet.

ah, you will have fun in university... there is stress but i think there is more fun than stress, and there are a lot of oportunities of different things to try out... and it is true, it is over sooner than one thinks - seems to me like the start of my first semester was just yesterday...

The last year at school I had much more time as ever before. The first- and second-semesters I know wailed constantly how much they had to do, but the rest had even much more time than me... :D

I have about 12 CRPGs that I never had finished. The last two Years of School the time it took from me got less and less and after that there where 3 Months where I had absolutely nothing to do, that looked even a little bit like work. I have still 12 Games I'll have to finish sometimes, not to count the three or four I got in these years...

Once you start ro play online, you never get back to regular games... :D

Had three days to relax now, but now it is time to get ready for my lasty final. After Tuesday, I'm free for four weeks till I start my work-study job for the summer. After July 4, no more fun for me till mid August.

Yeah, I'm into online games as well. I played EverQuest for a few years, but it got less and less enjoyable because the lvling was hard, and it was also hard to get groups because everyone else seemed to be higher in level than you. Now I play games such as World of Warcraft and StarCraft. I'm looking to checking out Guild Wars if that is at all possible.

Your not playing WoW on "Die Silberne Hand", no?

Hm, unlikely since it's a german server... :D

But I don't like WoW very much. Would no longer play if not my girl was this addicted to it, but it's quite fun anyway...

You're right, I'm not playing playing on that server since it is German. I'm not even sure if I can actually choose those kinds of servers or not. I haven't really thought about it or tried it yet.

Anyhow, yeah, it's all a matter of personal opinion about who likes what. I just happen to like the games.

And yes, Gemini is right about time consuming. More times than one, I lose track of time playing games like these. However, so long as I'm having fun, it's worth it.

hm, i never played this type of games - how do they work? i spend much too much time chatting already...

little bird - so did you just get your abi done? what will you study afterwards? i remember that the abi time until the exams was quite stressful, but after that it was quiet... my first semester was stress as well, basically my own fault for taking too many classes.

anyway, unfortunately the altitude sickness seems to have got me after all, urgh.

For me, even the Time BEFORE the Abi was very quite... 13th was the best year of all. Never did that few for school. I started to read my notes three days before the exams and everything went quite well. I could have done far better but it was enough to quilify for a NC of 2,4 and with two semesters waiting... Some courses count you +0,5 per semester after abi, so I'm around 2,0 to 1,4 now... :D

I know the altitude sickness but it has caused me no troubles... yet!

Everyone says first semester is hell but I was never one to worry about it. Well, almost everyone complained from 1st to 13th that they have to much to do and if I'm not a complete genius, I think they simply lied! :D

I'l start BWL (don't know the enlish word) in Bayreuth in october. I know, I don't fit in there quite well but I think it would be something I really like to do and I know almost no-one who knows what he wants to do, so I think myself quite lucky...

Ever Played RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Gothic (don't know if it's known outside germany) or Morrowind? Online-RPGs are quite like that but not with one Player but some thousands... There are hue differences between most games but most a fun anyway..

I've played Baldur's Gate from the PS2, it's pretty good. Sucks only have 3 characters though. I do have Neverwinter Nights, and I have to say I'm not really liking it. Probably because of movement, etc.

I haven't tried Morrowind yet, but I HAVE heard of Gothic. I believe my step-cousin has a copy of it. I heard good things and bad things about it.... unless the bad things were meant to be good.

I'm mostly playing World of Warcraft right now, but I recently got back into StarCraft... and I'm working on getting the Warcraft games as well. EverQuest, I have slowly stopped playing because of leveling and grouping problems.

Have you heard of Neocron? I think that game started in Germany or it was developed by some people in Germany. I played the demo of it awhile back when they started putting it out, and I thought it was awesome. I want to get a copy of it, but I'm going to have to wait.

Yes, heard of Neocron, is a german game as far as I know, but I don't like dark semi-post-apocaliptic sci-fi-settings, im more for fantasy...

Baldur's Gate on PS is most probably Dark Aliance. It has the Name of the Game "Baldur's Gate" and takes place in that City but that's the everything they have in common...
Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 are totaly different, Dark Alliance is much more like Diablo.
I didn't liked the Story of Neverwinter Nights but the cool part was the Toolset, you could design your own levels ans almost everything in the game with.
I was a GM for almost a year and I will go back to this as soon as NWN2 is aviable next year. Don't think it's of any use to spend six months at building everything only to have a far mor better technologie aviable 10 Weeks later...

Yay! School is over!!!!! :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

I'm so glad. I got a few weeks till my summer job. Anybody want to celebrate or have fun???

If you're buying the liquor and can find me some women to get laid with soon after, then I'm all in... Otherwise, liquor, ice cold beer, or whatever is just fine.

Only two days left and I'm finished with the work I do insted of military service! Five Months of free time are awaiting me... :D

Hm I sometimes wonder why I studied so hard - I got an average of 1.8, and as it turned out my major had an NC of about 4.0, and the minors were NC free...

BWL, wow... would be too hard for me... I am more of a literature/culture/language person...

I was not really good at maths (?) if it was about abstract things, but if it is about real things, that actually represent something that you could see touch with your hands (okay, you cant see -10,00$ ;)) everything gets very easy for me and I have to say, that I really enjoyed it at school. I would not go that far, that numbers are beautifull, but it's all very fascinating to me. In addition I worked two weeks in a parmacy because I wanted to do something that really has an impact to peoples life and I'm by far not strong enough to become a cop and I think I'm not that couraged to become a doc so I wanted to invent medicines, that could save many lives, too and better the lives of many people.
But in these two weeks I learned, that I by far enjoyed most the stock management and after visiting the logistical department (hope you know what I want to say) of the Draeger Company (maybe some of them know them. They are one of the world-wide most important companies in medical technology, and yes, they are here in this small town, that I live... :D) I was sure that I wanted to something related to management and logistics. Yes, I know I'm crazy, bur I really thing such things to be fun! :D

Looks like summer is upon us. What are you guys going to do besdie come on Lit?

I know I got my work study job. It is for a summer camp and I get to work with kids. You can always have fun with the kiddies. And now that I noticed this, where did My go? She disappeared. We must find her!

30 minutes left before my last day of work begins. In about six weeks I will move put my parents house and get my own home at the other end of the country. Sinve Germany isn't THAT large, it's "only" about 600km away... ;)
Before that I will visit a very special friend for a weekend or so and most probably will be walking around with a silly grin on my face all day! WOOHOOO!!! :nana:

:D

how old will the kids be? I used to teach English to 3-6 year olds, and I must say at times it was quite stressful, though they were very cute...

ah good luck with the moving! will you share an appartment, or get one by yourself?

The kids will be 6-12 if I remember right, Muna. I can't wait. I could use the money.

My: It seems you were busy. Summer class, huh? Good luck with that and don't be a stanger while taking those classes. That was my plan before I got this work study job.

I hope I will find something wich I can afford on my own. The money I will get from my parents should be sufficient but I'm now at Lübeck and want to move to Bayreuth. It's not that easy to find the perfect place if you are in the city for only three days or so, but I want to get a home where I will stay four years or maybe much more and I'm one of those, who needs MUCH privacy so sharing would be only a solution for some weeks.

And since 2:00 h I'm free at last! It still feels like any other tuesday or wednesstay evening but it's free time for almost half a year! :D
My best friend is at home alone for the next three days and sadly we just noticed it yesterday, so I wont spend these days there, but since she is used to go to spleep at about 03:00 h, there are some LONG nights before me... :D

ah yay for you!

have you already tried www.studentenwg.de and similar sites? usually they also have apartments, not only rooms... how is the cost there btw? just to compare... from what i heard most other cities are much more expensive than berlin, but i could be wrong, and it could be different in smaller places (how big is bayreuth anyway? i have never been there)
