This forum has definitely gone dead.

Anyhows, I've been w/out a car for like a week, maybe 2. I haven't kept track at the time, but anyways, I now finally have a new car!

I just picked up a 1995 Ford Thunderbird today. It's a sweet ride.

Maybe I'll get ladies now. I just hope they won't be seeing me because of the car though. I'd be pissed. I will try to have a picture up so everybody can see it.
ha! i have been without car or driver's license my whole life. and it is probably going to stay like that for a while.

I wasn't looking for the type MyOwn. I just thought maybe if I had this car, I'd get chicks more and then probably later on in the "relationship", they'll like me for me and not because I got a cool car.

As for Beemers, Caddy's, and Mercedes'... I will not drive one. They're good cars, but I'm not an old man yet.

My classes start up August 22. I'm still working out the financing and stuff for them.

Luckily I will have a loan, hopefully. I don't want to do it, but the great thing about it is I don't have to start paying it off until 6 months AFTER I graudate.

As for knitting, I wouldn't mind trying to learn that again. I need to re-learn sewing for my Halloween costume.

well i get more interested in the guys without cars because it feels like we have more in common... really, how does a car work to "get girls"? you don't usually chat them up on the street, do you?

Honestly, I don't know. I wish I knew, but I don't. I think it has to do with showing that you have class when it comes to good cars.

Anyhow, I'm not saying that I hope to pick up chicks with my new car. I'm just thinking it'd be kind of cool.

Really, more than anything, I think it would make me happier and more confident if ONE girl would ask me out on a date. I'm being serious here. And she has to be serious too, because then I know she wasn't interested in me in the first place and only did it out of pity and/or just to make fun.

Anybody sick of hot weather? I know I am. That is crazy! No more heat! No more heat! And I like heat....

well i can send you some cold nights from the peruvian winter if you want...

If you want to complain about weather, move to Ottawa, Canada.

The summer is either 40C days, or heavy rain. The winters are either wet snow/freezing rain, or deep cold that makes a half-inch layer of ice on everything.

What possessed my forefathers to stay here? Oh yes, natural beauty. Gotcha. :D

I know it was a few pages ago, but I'd like to chyme in on the job prospects thing. What is wrong with HR people that they have incredible requirements for entry-level positions? I think it's because they truly don't know what they're looking for.

hi entente! well - you always have to chance to move someplace warmer, right? but i guess the weather isn't the only thing about where to live...

Well, some updates on life:

I got my membership at the YMCA the other day. I'm hoping to get started real soon. Since I threw out my last pair of tennis shoes, I'm going to try to get some this weekend and I hope to get started on working out and losing weight this coming week.

I had some inexcusable reasons for getting my paperwork in late for college. I had the classes registered and ready to go, but I didn't get my financial aid paperwork in on time. However, I got lucky and I am still able to take my classes. So, I'll be starting classes in a few weeks and attending this fall and since I have the schedule the way I want it, I SHOULD be able to get great grades this semester and still work w/ no problems.

As far as girls and all that stuff goes, I'm done with it. No, not forever. I'm just tired of bullshit. I'm going to really focus on doing what I'm doing like working, going to school, writing my book, and working out. I'm sure I'd get better results if I worked out, lost some weight, but other than that, I'm just going to be done with it. If a girl comes around and wants to ask me out, then sure, I'll go out with them, but other than that, I'm done.

I'm just tired of being the nice guy I am and getting stepped on. I'm tired of every girl I meet ending up only wanting to be a friend. Let's be honest, guys don't have girl friends unless they're getting benefits. That, or they are gay. Plus, if I had feelings for the girl, it wouldn't work out for me. Like if she wanted me to come along to a movie with her, but she's bringing her boyfriend with us, then yeah, I'd be a jealous 3rd wheel.

Anyhow, that seems to be all that's new so far... oh and that I'm luckily still working where I'm working despite the trouble I've caused. lol

Hope everyone's having fun. Catch y'all laters!

Oh, she just reminded me. I now have a kitty cat. I call her "Baby" and a few other names, but my brother calls her "Waffles" after his first cat that died of old age.

I also have an algae eater. A fish that pretty much sits on the side of the glass of the aquarium eating algae.

Again, catch ya laters and hope everything's great with everyone. Especially you MyOwn.... I miss ya. Kinda wish we could have convos, but we have our own schedules, etc.

It is too fucking hot in NYC. That is why I have not been posting lately. I guess everyone getting ready for school. I finally got a new cell phone and now I can answer a few messages people left me during the week. THe only good thing I got to look forward to is the party I'm throwing next Saturday. That should be some fun. Now to find some way to stay cool.

LOL...whats with all that natural beauty bullshit? Frankly...it never really appealed to me...

As for those stupid HR people....I understand why they look for experience...but seriously...how am I supposed to get experience if NO ONE WILL GIVE IT TO ME?? That drives me insane...

On a side note....welcome to the thread entente....I love fresh meat!! ;)

Glad to hear that things seem to be improving a bit HC. I'll admit I've gotten lazy with the whole working out thing this summer...been sorta disjointed lately and out of a routine. Classes start on monday though so I'm hoping that things will calm down and I can figure out a good time to work out every day.

Congrats on the kitty. I love kittens. I have two. They're crazy little suckers but I adore them!!

My, you are never horny? Tsk Tsk. Must a low sex drive or good self control. You know I'm just messing with you right?

Just dropping in to say hello!

I'm anxious for the weather to start turning cooler..can't wait for fall to begin!

Were is everybody? People must be busy. I know I'm enjoying the perfect weather in NYC! No more heat! :D :D :D

I can safely say I never been on airplane. Maybe when I get older, but not now.

well first time i was in a plane was when i was 17, only... and all so far were big ones. as far as i understand tomorrow will be a tiny one. for like four people or something lik that.

No intrensic reason to be, but I hear you.

I present this for your consideration.

Flying since I was 16... (well, not so much now..lol!) an old fart now and still alive. I am checked out in a Piper Comanche 250, (4 person plane). They are generally safer than a big one (7x7 or Airbus) IMHO.

Why?

Because they have a better glide ratio. They are less like rocks. The have lower stall speed. They all have very strong airframes. Preportionally stronger than larger aircraft (20 gauge aluminum, used in large and small planes is, proportionally, effectively way thicker and stronger in a smaller airframe than a large one) They need less room in an emergency. They are forgiving.

The advantage large planes have: Speed and altitude. Speed is like money in the pocket, altitude is like money in the bank. The tradeoff: large planes have very high stall speeds, very high sink rates. Bottom line: In any aircraft, if the squirrels go on strike, you can get to the horizon if you know your stuff. And, if you know your stuff, you will get it safely on the ground way before that. Let me define safely here: You can walk away from it.

What really makes the difference, no matter what aircraft, is the pilot.

Most aircraft mishaps are due to pilot error. Included in this is a pilots inability to respect the weather conditions he is going to put his aircraft, and his own ass... into.

There is nothing ( in any aircraft) that if something goes wrong, you can't make it worse. So... discretion, experience and attitude counts. In the air, a cautious yet decisive personality is a plus. So... there are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots.

Best advise I ever got from an instructor:

"If things go to hell, what are you going to do now? If you do not stay ahead of this thing every second, it will kill you. Tumbleweeds are born to die."

Actually, in any situation that can contain danger, those are words to live by.
