Without the beloved Armalite there would still be bloodshed in Ulster.I was a 30 caliber fella until I got a decent chance to spend some time (because I spent some money) with an AR. It's really handy at carbine distances. That's where most of the shootable shit hits the fan anyway, it seems.

Peace came when the IRA gained an unshakable leadership position in the mass uprising. The Brits had no way out.

Turkey tastes better this time of year...I have 2 of the AR models in 30 caliber. One is the Sudanese model, a reproduction. Traditional, I like it, the cocking handle is a touch awkward. The other is a modern flattop which I haven't done more to than take it out of its box. It's going to get a scope, I think, or some kind of modern sighting system. There's no hurry just yet.
I may make an impromptu road trip Out West this week for a few days, and there might be a bit of target shooting while I'm there. We'll see.

I need to break down and spring for the night vision set-up that Coyote Boy told me about.
Turkey loads. So what's a good shot load for turkeys that I can get in 20 gauge?
I'll not be loaded light!I get mine at the grocery store.
Only one Wild Turkey™ is meant to be consumed...
... I carry a .38. In case, you know, mostly peaceful breaks out in town. They have a college...
Now that's digging deep.
