Not a How-To question, obviously. Or maybe it is? Either way, I practically live here on this board...(yeah, that's my room, three doors down and to the right, lol)...so I thought I would post this here. :rose:

I had the pleasure of talking with a wonderful man today who asked me one simple yet profound question:

"What feeds your soul?"

It made me wonder. What do you need to sustain that most intimate part of you, the part only the closest people see...or maybe even the part that no one else ever sees. What inspires you, makes you who you are at the deepest essence of your being?

What can you absolutely not live without? What do you have to have to sustain your inner self, just as urgently as a physical body needs water to survive?

So...I'm curious, as always.

What feeds your soul?

I know this may sound corny but.. plain and simply put - love. There was something missing from my life for the longest time and last year I felt it fill slowly. At one point it got to be so much, it was the happiest I had ever been my whole life. When you feel like you're on top of the world and then someone kicks it all out from under you with a few words well.. I don't know about anyone else, but I felt like a fish out of water for a few days. I couldn't breathe.
I'd give anything to feel that way again. And I know I will someday. :rose:

I think it's time to restock the soul food pantry. ;)

WFMS...

* Irreverantly laughing at a friend while she told me about a mishap that bugged her. I suppose it might not have fed her soul but I got a damn good belly full of laughter.

* Seeing some splinters of light shine through the darkness of loss.

* Turning the music back on!

Hatred, Pain, and lonelyness.

the three things that feed my only reason to continue on with a pointless existance.

they arnt good reasons but they are my only ones.

oh and of course, hope.

hope is what makes me walk through those 3 things standing straight up and willing to endure it all. hope is such an evil thing, isnt it?

-The courage and ability to bring it up and work it out instead of running away like I so desperately want to.

-Whispering in the dark and under the covers, way past our bed time.

-The intensity of love...feeling like I'm bursting with it, and communicating that with kisses, hugs, and long looks into eachothers' eyes.

The sense of love displayed there, gave me a very warm glow. :rose: :rose:

I agree, this post has been dessert for my soul. Erika, you are sweet but the beauty of your heart is awesome. :rose:  :rose:

I'm getting and receiving a lot of love lately, quoll...I couldn't be luckier or happier about that, and I'm glad it sparked something in you too. :) :rose:

^^ feeds my soul, too. A lovely compliment from an incredible woman.

--Laughing at little mishaps that would ordinarily make me swear. Well, I'll be honest, there was a little swearing involved, but it was damn funny too!

--Turning on the music loud to awaken my drowsy brain cells.

--Shrimp for dinner!

deserts. they are so cool, so extreme. i mean real deserts, the ones with not a single plant, and even better the cliche movie ones - especially climbing sand dunes is fun - i just still have sand in my shoes... and an oasis in the desert is really pretty too...

So far so good, now if we can all resist the urge, it will be far more effective.

I have a favor to ask ...

Ten days ago a woman I know died of a heart attack. She was just 50 years old. She and her husband have five children. Tomorrow those children will bury their father, who died over the weekend.

If you pray - in any form - would you remember L and J and their children.

Thanks so much. :rose:
