What Made You Smile/Laugh Today?

I am only too happy to use my buffoonery in a small way to be of assistance to a stressed-out Litster. You post about stress a lot, and that stress has to wear on you. I hope you destress soon.

Thank you for your kind words! :rose:

Although it isn't easy, I am learning to say "fuck it". I have to remember that I come first and not the job.

I think I would still like to try out that saw. The destruction I could cause using that tool would definitely make me smile. :D

I had a boss some years back who told me I needed to take a mental health day. When I protested that I'd "handle it," he looked at me and said:

"If you have a heart attack and die this afternoon, how long will it be before they have someone else doing your job, probably just about as well, or maybe even better?"

I took the mental health day.

Little Johnny Gets Culture

Little Johnny was at the mall with his mother when a man came walking toward them. Little Johnny hopped up and down, laughed, pointed, and screamed, "Mommy! Look at that bowlegged man!"

His mother was so embarrassed. "John, your manners are atrocious! You need some culture, young man!"
For the next month Little Johnny was forced to read Shakespeare every night. When his detention was finally over, his mother again took him to the same mall.

Sure enough, the same bowlegged man came walking toward them.
Had Little Johnny learned anything from the great bard?

Yes.
This time, as the man approached, Little Johnny cried out, "Hark! What manner of man is this me sees, who wears his balls in parentheses?"

Finally waking up today after a long and desperately needed recuperative night/morning of decadent sleep. *stretchy yawn * Yay :)

And maybe you can do it again this morning as well!

I smiled when my boss had the day off of work today... Oh how the mice will play...

After a busy few days and logging on, I saw that I recognized every thread on page 1 of the BDSM Talk & BDSM Cafe threads (except for the ones created since I last logged on).

While I'm not sure if I fit into the group of people here, I no longer feel like a complete stranger.

W~

Just completely strange? :D

You know you've arrived when certain people here start snarking at you...

I just took a couple of them and it made a world of difference. It's not always easy to admit that no matter how "strong" we are, we all need a break.

Thank you for your comment. It is very good advice. :rose:

Saying fuck it in the right circumstances is health-enhancing, yeah. I struggle with it at times. But really, everything at work can't be a crisis, can it? Unless you work as a brain surgeon or an air traffic controller? I highly recommend the saw. So beautiful. The raw destructive power of the saw.

Excuse me. I'll be over here. I, um, need a moment alone.

I am having this engraved in permanent Sharpie on the stall of the men's room where I work.

I guess if I have to be Stranger, then I should change my name and country...

How about "Albert Cam/US" ?

Blame Sir Winston for poking me, I merely responded ... :p

Knowing that no matter how stressed I am about life that there is someone who can make me smile and remember that speedbumps in life can sometimes be a good excuse to get airbourne :)

She, trying something new tonight: gin. A g&t and a dry martini:

"I like gin."
"You haven't found a drink yet that you don't like."
"Yes, I have. Bourbon." (*MY* preference)

My little man's such a teenager these days. I found him slouched in front of the telly and asked him what was up.

"Got a history project due on Friday."

"But you're good at history. You like history."

"Yea but the boys all want me to come out."

"So don't go."

"And tell 'em I'm doing homework instead?"

So he heads out the door after his tea, I let him get within spitting distance of his best friend's van and then I stick my head out the window.

"Just where do you think you're going? Get your arse back in here this minute ye little heathen!"

He freezes, totally stunned and is still trying to figure out what I've gone light over when he stomps back in through the door.

"Now thank your ma and go do your history project."

:D

This is so neat! But I have to ask...am I the only one that wants to see a very pixelated square ball bouncing about breaking away at the rainbow "bricks" ?

Well, Beethoven was considered by many to be a breakout artist in his time. Those views turned out to be prophetic as well.

Indeed. This movement also gives evidence of his love of improvisation on a theme, for which he was well known. His live piano performances, as I understand it, were mind-blowing examples of improvisation.

One might even say that for him, improvisation was key.

Successfully lifting another shovelful of crap out of the septic tank of life on my way towards the 24k nugget of success.
