A misunderstanding cleared up. Sometimes it helps to ask someone directly, rather than assuming.

Hey! I hit 5,000 posts! Gimme a coupon or something!! :)

Went out to dinner with a girlfriend and decided to sit at the bar instead of a booth or table. Fun fun times, we had a blast and will be doing it again real soon.

This incredibly imaginative visualization of the first movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. You will never hear this music in quite the same way again. Turn up your computer speakers to 11 and have a blast with Ludvig!

This is a neat, easy to grasp representation of what goes on in a symphonic orchestra. One of my closest friends is a conductor and I will never, ever stop marveling at his ability to read a full score and conduct an orchestra. Well, a small orchestra and a simple piece is one thing, but conducting a full philharmonic orchestra and a difficult piece, like any of Henze's...it really amazes me anyone can do that.

I play a couple of instruments myself and have played in an orchestra for the better part of my life, so sheet music is no stranger to me. But I don't know, if any of you have actually ever taken a look on a conductor's full score? It completely blows your mind and makes you appreciate the profession, oh, so much more.

So thanks, even if LvB isn't one of my favorites. :)

A couple years ago I received the full scores of the Beethoven symphonies as a gift and I still marvel at their complexity. It's awe inspiring.

1. Having an interesting conversation with someone who messaged me from here. (;
2. Running five miles and beating my record time.
3. Having an interesting band gig.

Aching fingers from all the scrubbing I've done today.
Aching knees and shins and tops of my feet from all the grouching I've done while performing said scrubbing today.
Sparkling tiles and grout in the bathroom.

Snack time now. Then I'll wash the glass door of sauna.

Oh, and crepes with asparragus and hollandaise for lunch!

I didn't read this either, but if I did, I'm sure I would have laughed right out loud. ;)

Driving in the mountains was extremely peaceful. The quaint little towns that I went through made me wish I could stay a little longer. :)

I guess my sister's going to some drag party for a friend or something, and she came over to show off her costume to the wife and I. Honestly, I thought she looked more like a chorus girl from some old musical than legitimately male, but that's beside the point; the entire time she was over talking about her costume, my beloved and I were exchanging significant glances and trying not to laugh: at the time my wife was dressed in her own boy-clothes and, in fact, binding her chest.

Seems like it's gotten to the point where nobody even notices that anymore :D

I went to the casino to pick up three boxes of cards (12 decks per box) for the prom after-party for our small town's students. Before they had the all-night after-party, they used to have at least one kid die each year, from drunk driving, fights or whatever. Since they started the after-party, they haven't lost one kid on prom night. So as a favor, I drove down to pick up the decks so the kids would have something to play with.

It's the end of my month... money comes in *next* week and early the following week, so I stopped and ate at the casino's prime rib buffet (I had a free coupon for it that I'd won earlier this month). After that, I decided WTH, I had $12 I wasn't doing much else with, so I thought I'd play just a few hands of blackjack ($3 minimum). Three and a half hours later, I left... up $3.00. Well... 3.5 hours of entertainment AND a profit?
Bonus!

Woohoo congratulations, now make sure that you don't spend it all at once. :D

Realizing that the shaving part of my epilator is actually really, really good and useful. Too bad I didn't notice it two years ago when I first bought it. Better late than never. :)
