What Made You Smile/Laugh Today?

Two months ago for my birthday a friend at work gave me a copy of 50 Shades of Gray because she knows "I'm into that stuff!"

She's good friend and I found it within me to say "Thank you. I've heard so much about this!"

Last week she asked if I read it and I....lied and said yes, but doubt I'll get the other two.

Now that she is appeased.....I threw the fucking thing in the trash today.:D

If my life gets any better they are going to slap a Hallmark movie sticker on my backside :D

I had a big old load of gardening to do today for my neighborhood's green waste collection, which I was dreading; the last one was a big and drawn out job that ended up with my hands cut up by thorns from my new bougainvillea (not my garden, remember. I only moved here last year.)

To my surprise, this time D came out to help me deal with it. Not only was the work shorter and far more enjoyable that way... but she looked completely gorgeous in her old bulky 'working jeans' and a straw hat. Did not know she owned a straw hat... :D

The benefits of living poly, folks! ;)

Master allowed me to wheedle him into going to a party/house concert this evening. We haven't had a night out together in forever! I'm so happy! :rose:

ETA: He had a really good time, too! :D

An absolutly beautiful clear still winters day.

Picking some friends up and going out for Sunday brunch followed by a walk and general silliness along the beach including cartwheels and an impromptu game of tag.

Going to the library and spending an hour there, just wandering around the books, picking random ones up and finding so many I wanted to check out that I had to limit it to ten.

Lime Ice Cream

Finally feeling like I am over my flu.

Feeling like I have met someone for the first time even though I have known them for awhile.

Not only did Master go with me (grudgingly), he actually had a good time and enjoyed the music! :D It was so good to see and hear him laugh (and even sing along once or twice).

We saw a local group who do a mix of Euro-folk, sea chanties, and SCA-related songs. It was at a very close friend's home, which was packed, and the group treated the audience like the good friends we often are. The first set was family-oriented, but the second set was delightfully bawdy. Much fun was had, and will be remembered for a long time! And I'm on cloud 9 because He was there sharing it with me! :rose:

There's so much to smile about today. Making croissants from scratch for breakfast on a sunny balcony. Planting chilis into bigger pots. Exchanging fresh spinach for some dried mushrooms from last fall. Finding two liters of bilberries in the freezer, when I thought I had already eaten them all with yoghurt.

Finding jeans that fit really well and are a size smaller than I thought I'd need, then noticing they're 70% off. Hearing a friend of mine had eloped and is now a Mrs.

And the final of the Euro Cup is today. It's not going to be the most exciting game ever for me, as I don't really care for Spain and definitely don't care for Italy, but it'll be a good game, nevertheless. Wine, cheese, cuddling and some good football. (Or soccer for you Americans. And I'm not gonna go about my usual rant how football is supposed to played with feet like soccer is, not just tossing and running like American football is. Oh wait, I think I just did...)

Not to mention that I really, really have to keep smiling, or I'll cry at the thought of now being stuck in this town for the next five-ish years because of his work.

It's July.

I finally finish my job, I have my birthday, I go to the airport to go for a 2-week holiday to Canada - all in July.

Then in late August I do NOTHING AT ALL :)D) for a fortnight... then I take my car and my dog and my man to France for 3 weeks... then I move house.... then I start at uni.

As my Jamaican ex-husband would say, "soon come" :D
