What Made You Smile/Laugh Today?

I have a double smile today. First, it was relatively cooler today, never broke 100. When I saw the forecast this morning I decided it was a good day for the hot shop (playing with fire and molten glass). I had an excellent, productive day!

Towards the end, I got my 2nd treat, a rip-roarer of a thunderstorm! It rained steadily for about an hour with wind and bunches of thunder and lightning. I think we might have gotten close to an inch of rain!
 
Taking my niece to the zoo. I loved listening to her as she tried to sweet talk the animals into coming closer.

Master just told me that he believes that the vision improvement treatment he's been undergoing seems to be working. This is amazing, wonderful news!
 
So, all of my kids were at friends houses last night, and K was working, so my best friend came and kidnapped me. We went exploring, ended up spending the night in the Dalles, then came home this morning. We had a great time, even if it did take us three hours to get to a town one hour from where we live.

First we went to Hood River, but there wasn't anything interesting there. So we went to Carson, because they have a hot springs resort there. We didn't stay there, because it was CREEPY. First, we couldn't find the main entrance. All the lights were on, but there was (as far as we could tell) no one there (there were only six cars parked in the parking lot). Then we found the original hotel, which was like something out of a horror movie. It looks cool in the photo, but it's got boarded up windows and stuff in r/l. I told M that if someone came out the doors with an axe, she'd need to run faster than me. lol Anyway, then we went to the dalles and they were having a huge outdoor festival things, so we stayed there. Then we came home the back way.

Overall, we had a blast and now we know what's over there. I have the best best friend in the whole world.
 
The foster babies at rest. One nearly deaf or deaf, the other with a birth-damaged left foreleg. They're playing together a lot, and like to snooze together, too. Neither understands - or even seems to notice - that he isn't quite "all there," or that the other isn't. They just know they like playing and resting together. :) I hope we can find someone to take them together as indoor cats.

In the middle of dealing with some incredibly difficult & stressful stuff, I was reminded that as potentially awful as a lot of things are about to become... At least I'm not the person causing all my stress.

Because ye.gods.

I mean, I really want to say this latest little twist was unexpected, but it would be the biggest whopper of a lie... It's almost comical.
