What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

My new passport pic. I was hoping I'd look less murderous than in my previous passport pic, but nope. Just as insane. Gotta laugh, lest I cry.

I also appreciated the crap out of the fact that I could renew my passport and order an ID card with a few clickety-clicks in the comfort of my own home. God bless modern technology that helps me avoid human contact.

Squints and goes to check something... ^__^

*** edit: yep! Hi hi. ♡♡♡ really very glad you are here sweety ♡♡♡ I'm glad for all of the HAPPINESS. It made my year. ( I knew I'd seen the card before and I was going to be HACKED if someone was passing it off as theirs when I knew for darn sure whose it was. )

For me... a student at my school pulled me aside yesterday to ask me if I knew anything about gender dysphoria. Now in context this is HUGE as here it is literally a life or death conversation. I'm so freaking honored, proud, and more than slightly terrified of how to proceed. I told them I do indeed, and I'll gladly be a safe listening ear. I asked if that was the root of the apathy we have been discussing.... I got a shrug and a maybe.
Today student was hiding in the bathroom to catch me to give me a card they made me thanking me. Apparently they only know three things about me: I like books, Christmas, and expo markers. ( kinda sad for knowing me three years) but still... I got trusted, confided in about BIG THINGS and apparently I did well. ♡

Ps. It's the weekend! Woot! And I get my gas lines installed this week!!! No more annoying gas tanks to lug up stairs. No more cold showers with finicky heaters not liking the pressure. ♡♡♡

*** le gasp*** Evil Geoff is round and about! LONG TIME NO SEE! This atop Primalex doing a fly by the other day. Must be the siren call of Lit is strong this month.

Evil Geoff, your comment about IRC and emotional attachment brought back all the memories, many good. Glad to see you back, hope you stick round a bit.

Lots of things variously throughout the day. Most recently, a damn good bowl of chili and cornbread with a friend... and being regaled by a tale of the time his blind son schooled everyone in the house on Mortal Kombat... and his grandson (nephew to the blind man) trying to make excuses...

grandson: "Well, you win some, you lose some."

grandpa: "But, you lost to a blind man!"

grandson: "I wasn't used to the gaming system."

grandpa: "He couldn't even SEE the gaming system!"

And then getting told off to eat my damn chili when I laughed even harder during the obligatory "in my day we didn't have video games. I spent my time tromping cotton." And set the kids and grandkids (and his wife) to laughing too.

A good conversation with my Person's girlfriend. <3 He likes to wake up Saturday morning to find the two of us discussing crafting and what we are doing with our nails that week. She is WAY more professional at it than I, but I enjoy seeing what she manages to do.

Today we were discussing the consequences of salting roads in the winter... and cow methane. ^__^

Did my first swim with me mermaid tail yesterday. I ache in places I haven’t since I started training for it but it was so fun.

The look of surprise then smiles on my daughter's face when she found out the package that came in the mail was, indeed from Daddy Wolf, but not for me. It's a Christmas present for her.
(You should have seen the look that followed when I told her she had to wait until Christmas eve to open it)
