What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

Warning. This going to be a bit wordy. Feel free to skip.

My baby was having quinoa for dinner. I couldn’t remember if I liked quinoa or not. It was either quinoa or couscous that I don’t like. Somehow we got on a tangent where it would be kind of cool for a ninja to jump out from behind at tree and yell “QUINOA!” Where yelling “COUSCOUS!” would not have the same effect.

Fast forward

My son and I are yelling “QUINOA!” and “COUSCOUS!” at each other. Little bastard “”COUSCOUSED!” me from behind the grassy knoll. Scared the bejesus out of me!

So I made my baby a coconspirator. She called me. I told my boy the phone was for him. She “QUINOA’D” him right in his fucking ear! That was over an hour ago and he’s still giggling like crazy.

Thank you @Annabelle36. Best partner in crime ever!

After what has seemed like 140 years, I've finally finished the entire Russian course on Duolingo! Of course, I still feel like I know very little Russian, but I've been working on that course since it launched. I'm not sure what year that was, but it was a WHILE back.

Ура! 😀

Nicely done! I'm working my way through Spanish and French.

Well done. A beautiful language indeed.

Also, the man has his flaws--not the least of which is that he is the least reliable person on earth when it comes to making plans and keeping them--but I can say that Daddy is consistently sweet to me, and that counts for a lot.

I texted him earlier to tell him I had finished the Russian course and was really happy about it and also to check on him. He said he was laid up in bed in pain again (this is a regular occurrence for him in the afternoons, the poor bastard), but he also said, "That's awesome, kitten, congratulations!" to the bit about the Russian course.

(I know, it doesn't sound like much. But when my last D/s relationship was with someone who would've either ignored me saying it altogether or asked me why I was telling him that or something equally crappy, that little bit of acknowledgement means a lot.)

Sounds like a good guy you have! ☺️

And congrats on finishing the Russian course! I think it makes sense to take your time and repeat things if you feel like you need to, and maybe even if you don’t feel that way. I did parts of the Welsh course really fast and now I’ve noticed that those lessons didn’t really stick as well as some that I didn’t speed through. With Welsh especially there’s also the added problem of not having any grammar explained in the app, so I really should advance slow to be able to figure out the grammar behind it all. But I’m making progress. That’s fun. 🥳

Oh and my smile:

It’s Friday and I have a great weekend getaway with some theater, food and beer ahead of me. Yay!

This philodendron that hangs over my kitchen sink. It's about 10 years old and I keep cutting it back, and it just keeps on giving. How can I not smile?
This is cool, very beautiful window and a very beautiful plant! I have a philodendron that’s almost 20 years old and it’s a measly little thing. It’s okay though, it’s gone through a lot so it’s a small wonder it’s even alive at this point. 😁

To keep with the plant theme, my Amagris Ctenanthe flowers are starting to open. There are two that are in this stage and five that are just teensy buds.

I still can’t believe this is happening, because it’s supposed to be very rare for it to bloom indoors and I’m far from an exemplary plant mama…

Thank you.
I have named her Rapunzel. :)

Beautiful day outside, yesterday I figged myself for Goddess (it really isn't that bad) and it really pleased her. Can a puppy ask for more?

Dying that anyone who has seen my sad contributions to that thread would accuse me of being able to speak German. I have to Google Translate the whole thing just to follow it.

It’s a compliment! ☺️

What I find funny is that it’s somehow on me/us to make the German board to become a flourishing community or at least not suck or. Because I guess it must suck if no one wants to go there or stay there? And based on the posts from that particular user I kind of understand why people wouldn’t want to go or stay. They’re not making it seem like an inviting place…

I thought the exact same thing.

Still pretty happy Daddy actually let me help him with something yesterday. AND he mentioned letting me help him clean his house later, too. So maybe he's finally realizing that he needs help, and I'm the one to give it to him. :)
