Thunder storm is going on right now. 'natch.

I love it when the song coincides with the storm going on right now. :D :D

The Thunder Rolls
by Garth Brooks

Three thirty in the morning
Not a soul in sight
The city's looking like a ghost town
On a moonless summer night
Raindrops on the windshield
There's a storm moving in
He's heading back from somewhere
That he never should have been

And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

Every light is burning
In a house across town
She's pacing by the telephone
In her faded flannel gown
Asking for miracle
Hoping she's not right
Praying it's the weather
That's kept him out all night

And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

The thunder rolls
And the lightning strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart

The thunder rolls

She's waiting by the window
When he pulls into the drive
She rushes out to hold him
Thankful he's alive
But on the wind and rain
A strange new perfume blows
And the lightning flashes in her eyes
And he knows that she knows

And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

The thunder rolls
And the lightning strikes
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart

The thunder rolls

"Here's your sign"
by Travis Tritt, featuring Bill Engvall

I just hate stupid people.
They should have to wear signs that just say I'm stupid.
That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you?
You wouldn't ask them anything. It would be like, "Excuse me...oops,
never mind"

"I didn't see your sign."

It's like before my wife and I moved from Texas to California our house
was full of boxes and there was a u-Haul truck in our driveway.
My friend comes over and says, "Hey, You moving?"

"Nope."

"We just pack our stuff up once or twice a week. Just to see how many
boxes it takes."

"Here's your sign."

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the
modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...
Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

Last time I was home I was driving around I had a flat tire, I pulled my
truck into one
of these side-of-the-road gas statioons, the attendant walks out, looks
at my truck,
looks at me, I swear to GOD he went, "Tire go flat?"

I couldn't resist.

I said "Nope".

"No I was driving around and those other three just swelled right up on
me."

"Here's your sign."

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the
modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...
Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

I was watching one of those animal shows on the Discovery Channel, there
was a guy testing a shark bite suit. There's only one way to test that.
"Alright Jimmy, you got that shark suit on, it looks good... They want
you to jump into this pool of sharks, and you tell us if it hurts when they bite
you."

"Well allright....hold my sign, I don't wanna loose it"

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the
modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...
Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

We were trying to sell our car about a year ago, a guy come over to the
house, drove the
car around for about 45 minutes. We get back to the house, he gets out
of the car, reaches down
and grabs the exhaust pipe, then goes, "Damn thats hot!"

See...

If he'd been wearing his sign, I could have stopped him.

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - The Band
I happened to hear it on the road yesterday and it has been stuck in my head ever since.

Beat of a Heart
Scandal featuring Patty Smyth

The heat of the sun
Was a little too much today
Love on the wing
Flew so high it just melted away

So sweet on the run
So little time to make you see
What can't be undone
Was maybe never meant to be

But sometimes a fool
Gets lucky and wins
Sometimes the innocent pay
For an old man's sin

But when the amber light
Of daylight's gone
All I wanna feel
Is the beat of a heart

The street that night
Had a little too much to say
And the look in your eyes
It was a little too far away

But sometimes a fool
Gets lucky and wins
Sometimes the innocent pay
For an old man's sin

Sometimes a fool
Gets lucky and wins
Sometimes the innocent pay
For an old man's sin

But when the amber light
Of daylight's gone
All I wanna feel
Is the beat of a heart

Just a little life ticking away
The beat of a heart
You come and take me far away

Sometimes a fool
Gets lucky and wins
Sometimes the innocent pay
For an old man's sin

But when the tears are dark
And we stand as one
All I wanna feel

And when the amber light
Of daylight's gone
All I wanna hear
Is the beat of a heart

Beat of a heart
You come and take me far away

Lowdown
by Boz Scaggs

Baby's into runnin' round
Hangin' with the crowd
Putting your business in the street
Talkin' out loud
Sayin' you bought her this and that
And how much you done spent
I swear she must believe
Its all heaven sent
Hey boy
You better bring the chick around
To the sad sad truth
The dirty lowdown

(Oh, I wonder wonder wonder wonder who-)
-Taught her how to talk like that
(Oh, I wonder wonder wonder wonder who-)
- Gave her that big idea

Nothin' you can't handle
Nothin' you ain't got
Put your money on the table
And drive it off the lot
Turn on that old lovelight
And turn a maybe to a yes
Same old schoolboy game
Got you into this mess
Hey son
You better get back to town
Face the sad old truth
The dirty lowdown

(Oh, I wonder wonder wonder wonder who -)
- Put those ideas in your head
(Oh, I wonder wonder wonder wonder who...)

Yeah
Come on back down to earth son
Dig the low low low low lowdown

You ain't got to be so bad
Got to be so cold
This dog eat dog existence
Sure is gettin' old
Got to have a Jones for this
Jones for that
This runnin' with the Jones's boy
Just ain't where it's at
You gonna come back around
To the sad sad truth..
The dirty lowdown

(Oh, wonder wonder wonder wonder who - )
Got you thinking like that boy
(Oh, I wonder wonder wonder wonder who...)

I wonder wonder wonder wonder who...
Said I wonder wonder wonder wonder who...

Oh, look out for that lowdown
That dirty dirty dirty dirty lowdown
I wonder wonder wonder wonder who
Oh Who, I wonder who got you thinking like that...

The Birds - Elbow

The birds are the keepers of our secret
As they saw us where we lay
In the deepest grass of springtime
In a reckless guilty haze

And they wove a sweet indifference
And it settled on our skin
Till the eyes that I remembered
For the last time drew me in

The birds, though I wore your glacial patience
To a smudge of bitter dust
On the last day you embraced me
With a glistening sapling trust

Did they sing a million blessings
As they watched us slowly part?
Do they keep those final kisses
In their tiny racing hearts

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

The birds are the keepers of our secret
As they saw us where we lay
In the deepest grass of springtime
In a reckless guilty haze

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

Did they sing a million blessings
As they watched us slowly part?

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

Do they keep those final kisses
In their tiny racing hearts

What are we gonna do with you?
Same tale every time
What are we gonna do with you?
Come on inside
Looking back is for the birds

What are we gonna do with you?
What are we gonna do with you?

The Bones of You

Stuck in my head for days....the same thing happens to me when I hear a particular song. Takes me straight back to a first love and that magical feeling of finding someone who takes your breath away. When just being together is all you need - making memories, I suppose. And in a way, it makes me a little melancholy that I will never experience it again...

So I'm there,
Charging around with a juggernaut brow
Overdraft speeches and deadlines to make
Cramming commitments like cats in a sack
Telephone burn and a purposeful gait

When out of a doorway the tentacles stretch
Of a song that I know and the world moves in slow-mo
Straight to my head like the first cigarette of the day

And it's you and it's May
And we're sleeping through the day
And I'm five years ago
And three thousand miles away

Do I have time? A man of my calibre?
Stood in the street like a sleepwalking teenager?
No. And I dealt with this years ago
I took a hammer to every memento

But image on image like beads on a rosary
Pull through my head as the music takes hold
And the sickener hits, I could work till I break
But I love the bones of you, that I will never escape

Oh, this is great! I spent a month sharing a room with an annoying British girl in Poland. She listened to Elbow a lot, and while I wasn't a fan of the girl, I liked the music. I had forgotten all about it until now. Thanks! :)

Ah, memories indeed.

Coldplay - True Love

For a second I was in control
I had it once I lost it though
And all along the fire below would rise
And I wish you could have let me know
What's really going on below
I've lost you now, you let me go
But one last time

Tell me you love me
If you don't then lie
Oh lie to me

Remember once upon a time
When I was yours and you were blind
A fire would sparkle in your eyes
And mine

So tell me you love me
If you don't then lie
Oh lie to me
Just tell me you love me
If you don't then lie
Oh lie to me
If you don't then lie
Oh lie to me

Call it true, call it true love
Call it true, call it true love

Adham Shaikh's Water Prayer Rasta Mix (Matt the Alien Remix). For any Orphan Black fans, it's the song playing during the clone dance scene toward the end of the second season finale.
