Whats everyone doing today?

No. LOL I know you weren't talking to me, but it fits........I'm editing.

Editing is not a fun task at all.

Does anyone know where I can find a selection of sunscreens/shades for my car? Target has a whopping total of zero.

Did you look in the baby/infant/kiddie part? are you looking for one that suction cups to the window or one for the windshield?

One for the windshield to protect the dashboard when I have to park in uncovered areas.

Auto parts store? I know that sounds like alien territory, at least it does for me, so be brave! ;)

Wally World? Kragen? Local car parts store? I got my silver deflective one from Target a few years ago. Good luck! :)

Today I did dishes, went to the hardware store, did grocery shopping, and ate chocolate.

I still have to plan and cook dinner, and do a couple loads of laundry.

Do I live a charmed life or what? :D

I've got to rest after reading that.

I went to the grocery store. Dropped a can on the bumper of the brand-new car and scuffed the paint. Dammit.

Duh, my turn to have a "blonde" moment here. Now, do you think in all of the time that I've lived here & driven by auto parts stores that I'd remember where one is off of the top of my head? Hell no. Google here I come.

Thanks for stating the obvious to me BG, I needed it. :D

Now that seriously sucks. :rose:

When our car was almost brand new, I came out of the grocery store to find a small dent, similar to what a runaway grocery cart could do. I was pissed, and for months afterward I heard about it from my dear spouse on a very regular basis.

That sucks big time.

Do you use a red pen?

I do! I do! I do!

Speaking of red pens, PTM, remember that trainee that I had back in Feb-March? Well, she's coming back to me for 3 more weeks. She's had 2 other trainers & this is the last resort. They want me to go hardball on her. If she can't get this shit together, she's gone. Her biggest problem now is proofreading. I'm going to stock up on the red Monday morning before she comes in. I can't wait. I've always wanted to go nasty on a trainee, but that's not my natural style.

Denae! Such language! I never dreamed I'd hear that from you!

What did you do to deserve another round with her? Oh, I'm editing on my laptop. You can help if you want to.......I only have 123 pages!

No, red pens are bad for a child's self-esteem. ;)

Rrrright!

If it is purple or green it isn't so damaging that they got it wrong!?

They have faith in me. Our training coordinator said that I'm her trainer of choice. This one is just a very difficult train and we haven't had one of those in awhile. She's a nice woman and I do think she can do the job, she just needs to put things in perspective and take her time and do things correctly instead of half-assed in order to make the turnaround time limit.

Eilan, you know the first scratch/ding is inevitable, you might as well be the one to put it there! :rose:

When I was in school I hated the red marks. As a result I triple checked my work to get it right the first time.......to get a paper with no red marks did wonders for my self-esteem. Back then we had to use typewriters and my teachers would not accept correction fluid! College was a breeze because of them.

That's the way of the world it seems......half-ass. I don't know if I told you, but my brother teaches college math. His dean called him in because he gives too Ds........ My brother showed him the grades and the final of one student in particular and refused to change the grade.

Good lord ~ you have to deal with her again!?

lol, Office Depot will run out of red felt tip pens!

No, it isn't your style but this could be a good exercise for you to be a harsh taskmaster! :D

Good luck with her ~ keep us posted!

I remember using a manual typewriter - no fluid. That lift off tape was pretty nice though ;)

You get pretty good at typing when you 'can't' make mistakes.

So, would you say that the red pen is actually an incentive (at least in your case of not wanting to see the marks?)

This is the third brand new car that I've bought. My goal is not have a scratch or a ding until I have plates on it.

With my first car, someone parallel parked in front of me. Their bumper was evidently higher than mine as they pulled off a chunk of paint (down to the body of the car). Bastards.

The other one didn't bother me as much, but still no reason for it. I parked out in B.F.E. at a mall on a Sunday morning when all of the non-heathens like me are in church. I came out to my car perhaps an hour later and there was a car right next to mine. Now mind you, this person could have parked elsewhere as there were at least 20 spots between my car and the next to the side and at least 10 rows either in front or in back of my car. But this clown had to park next to me and took a little chip out of my passenger side door.

I don't hold out much hope for this one either.

But I want to be a harsh taskmaster for a man this time. I want to see a man quiver when I tell him what I want him to do. Oops. Wrong thread.

We had a high school teacher here who refused to raise a young lady's grade. She didn't earn the grade. The girl's parents took the teacher to court and the teacher stood her ground. I don't remember hearing what the final court ruling was on this one or if the parent's dropped the complaint. I supported the teacher. I love parents like this. I guess they'll be there when their daughter goes to work and doesn't make the grade with her workload. Are they going to sue the employer because Susie didn't complete her work on time or correctly?
