My "babies" are starting first grade and third grade on Thursday. I cried when my oldest started kindergarten, but I blame that on being 37+ weeks pregnant.

Yes, he's excited. He has been asking "is tomorrow a school day" for a week and a half now. I actually start teaching before he starts school. We have kindergarden orientation Thursday and then he starts classes Friday (which is just odd to me to start on a Friday). I am sure I will probably cry, and I won't have the excuse of being 37+ weeks pregnant.

He was so excited about shopping for school supplies, some of which I have to finish getting tomorrow night.

We have an open house tomorrow evening. My first grader is really excited about this because she wants to meet her first-grade teacher and see her kindergarten teacher.

My kids' school district is doing a two-day "staggered start" for grades 1-5 (kindergarten does a 3-day staggered start). The boys go on Wednesday and the girls go on Thursday. Then everyone goes on Friday. It's supposed to be better for diagnostic purposes. *shrug*
